listen to the readings.

I. LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING
Acts 2: 1-4

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled,

they were all in one place together. And
suddenly there came from the sky a noise
like a strong and driving wind, and it
filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them tongues of
fire, which parted and came to rest on each
of them. And they were all filled with the
Holy Spirit and begun to speak in
different tongues, as the spirit enabled
them to proclaim.

The word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

4
RESPONSORIAL PSALM:

R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face

of the earth.

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

O LORD, my God, you are great indeed!
You are clothed with majesty and glory,
robed in light as with a cloak.

R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face

of the earth.

2. You fixed the earth upon its foundation,

not to be moved forever;
with the ocean, as with a garment, you covered it;
above the mountains the waters stood.

R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face

of the earth.

3. You send forth springs into the watercourses

that wind among the mountains.
Beside them the birds of heaven dwell;
from among the branches they send forth their
song.

R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face

of the earth.

5
SECOND READING
Galatians 5:16, 22.225

A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the

Galatians.

Brothers and Sisters, live by the Spirit and you will

certainly not gratify the desires of the flesh. The
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control. Now, those who belong to Christ have
crucified their flesh with its passion and desires. If
we live in the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit.

The word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

6
GOSPEL John 20:19-23
Priest/Deacon: The Lord be with you.
All: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the holy Gospel
according to John.
All: Glory to you, O Lord.
Priest/Deacon: On the evening of the first day of
the week, when the doors were locked,
where the disciples were for fear of the
Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, “Peace be with you”.
When he had said this, he showed them his
hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced
when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them
again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has
sent me, so I send you.” And when he had
said this, he breathed on them and said to
them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins
you forgive are forgiven them, and whose
sins you retain are retained.”

Priest/Deacon: The Gospel of the Lord.

All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

7
Commentator: Please remain standing.

After the Bishop blesses the people with the Gospel Book,

Commentator: Please be seated.

the prayers of your servants
and grant that,
being conformed more perfectly to your

they may grow steadily
in bearing witness to him,
as they share in the memorial of his
redemption,
by which he gained for us your Holy
Spirit.
Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

17
PREFACE I OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
(THE SENDING OF THE SPIRIT BY
THE LORD UPON THE CHURCH)

Bishop: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.
Bishop: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
Bishop: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right and just.
Bishop: It is truly right and just, our duty and
our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you
thanks,
Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal
God,
through Christ our Lord.
Ascending above all the heavens
and sitting at your right hand,
he poured out the promised Holy Spirit on
your adopted children.
Therefore, now and for ages unending, with
all the host of Angels, we sing to you with
all our hearts, crying out as we acclaim:
SANCTUS
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts…
18
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II
Bishop: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all
holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
by sending down your Spirit upon them like
the dewfall, so that they may become for us
the Body + and Blood of our Lord, Jesus
Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered
willingly into his Passion,
He took bread and, giving thanks,
broke it, and gave it to his disciples,
saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT

OF IT,
FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

19
In a similar way, when supper was ended,
he took the chalice and, once more giving
thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK

FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY
BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND
ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR
YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE
FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Bishop: The mystery of faith.

Commentator: Please stand.
All: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess
your Resurrection until you come again.

20
Bishop: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of
his Death and Resurrection, we offer you,
Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of
salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body
and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered
into one by the Holy Spirit.
Concelebrant: Remember, Lord, your Church,
spread throughout the world, and bring
her to the fullness of charity, together
with Francis our Pope and Danilo our
Bishop and all the clergy.
Remember also, Lord, your servants
whom you have been pleased to confirm
today by bestowing the Holy Spirit and
keep them in grace.

Concelebrant: Remember also our brothers and

sisters who have fallen asleep in the
hope of the resurrection, and all who
have died in your mercy.
Welcome them into the light of your
face. Have mercy on us all, we pray,
21
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God,
with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with
the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints
who pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be coheirs to eternal
life, and may praise and glorify you
through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Bishop: Though him, and with him, and in

him, O God almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
glory and honor is yours, forever and
ever.
