Analysis of Self

 Analyzing correction reports everyday, making a list of new words and another list of common
errors, utilizing these lists in everyday transcription.
 Always being aware of one's performance - like checking the previous day's performance for line
count, EPTL, checking MTD performance, and seeing how close one is to the target. This will
keep one motivated and always trying to beat one's own performance.
 Spending half hour once a week on learning how to reference better on Beemine, using samples,
learning the various new technologies that have home up in transcription, learning new skills that
would improve one's transcription, etc.

Learning from Others

 Observe a high producer to learn to transcribe first-shot-right, practice FSR on one file every day
and gradually increase the number of files on the FSR method.
 Meet with/observe a few high producers, learn a minimum of 3 practices that they use and start
implementing those practices in one's work every day.
 Attend proofing skills presentation by the productivity facilitator, start proofing own files before
posting, check with correction reports the next day, make notes of corrections, and continue to
improve using one's own correction reports.

 Setting creeping targets for oneself every month, for example, setting a target of 5 lines
improvement every day, therefore by the end of the month, the MT should have grown by 115
lines if he/she has worked for 23 days in that month.
 Setting career-growth goals, finding out what it takes to reach each move upwards, fix deadlines,
work towards achieving those goals. This could also be shared with the TL or a buddy who will
constantly keep encouraging you on your journey to success.

Time Management
 Working on time savers - keeping a log of time of logging in, break timings, waiting for help,
browsing, chatting, being disturbed by others for help, then check which is the biggest time
consumer, and make a conscious effort to reduce that time and use it for transcription.
 Time management - setting goals for oneself on an hourly basis, first-hour posting, half-shift
posting and meeting those goals. Writing it down on a logsheet will help one see success for
themselves and will also encourage the MT to continue to do well.
 Time each author according to his ease/difficulty of transcription, maintain those timings, this will
boost your morale, and you could do a lot more lines than you actually think you can.
 Work individually without taking help from anyone for at least 1 job everyday, then gradually
progress this to 2, 3, etc, until you reach a stage where you will call for help only when the author
is terrible, this way, one will save a lot of time waiting for help and can use that time for
transcribing another job.

Transcriber Options
 Keep the foot pedal options to rewind to 2 seconds only. Greater than 2 seconds will only slow
down a transcriptionist's speed.
 Keeping your foot pedal options rewound to 4 seconds. This will ensure that as soon as you take
your foot off the pedal, the transcriber will rewind 4 seconds back, therefore you can proof the
previous sentence while you are even transcribing for the first time. This is one method of
transcribing right the first time.
