The mother of Earth Bhumi devi was kind and affectionate mother who cared for all
themes and healthy happenings of the Earth.
Bhumi devi had a son named Naraka, with love and affection bhumi devi showered her
son with blessings and knowledge that ultimately help Naraka to be strong and
powerful King.
Even though Naraka was the son of a divine deity he still had the selfish nature of
the demon and had a strong desire to rule all three worlds.
However, he knew that without immortality he cannot achieve his goal.So one day in
order to achieve immortality Naruko Sara went to a forest and meditated Lord Bramha
for many years.
Lord Brahma was pleased with this meditation and appeared before Narakasura for a
wish.

Naraka sura was filled with joy and said "O Lord Bramha please give me the gift of
immortality" to which the

Lord angrily replied "anyone born on this earth must die".

At first Narakasura was disappointed but then he thought to himself for a second
and

said "O Lord you need not grant me immortality then but if I die let it be by the
hands of my own mother".

Lord Bramha granted his wish and Narakasura was overjoyed because he knew that no
mother would harm her own son, with that Narakasura was now immortal.
Narakasura with this power brought all the kings on earth underneath his control
and started troubling people with his wicked deeds.
He moved towards the sages to make fun of them and torture them.

Narakasura declared "you cannot pray to any gods and iam your only God".

The sages troubled ran to King Devendra(the king of all the gods).

He begged "O king Devendra please save us from Narakasura as he is troubling us and
torturing us".

Surprised by Narakasura acts Devendra replied "I shall help you up all sages".

Meanwhile Narakasura set his eyes upon devaloka and arrived in hopes of capturing
the heavens.

As Narakasura arrived King Devendra confronted him and after a mighty standoff in a
ferocious battle,Devendra was defeated by a mighty blow from Narakasura.

Even mighty Devendra cannot withstand an assault from the son of Bhumi devi and had
to leave the heavens.
Narakasura had now captured both heavens and the earth. As Narakasura was still
overjoyed from defeating Devendra,he turned towards the mother goddess Aditi as his
next victim.

After defeating our army he approached Aditi, he easily defeated her and now he
rejoiced and yet another victory.

He noticed a pair of glowing earrings worn by Aditi, fascinated by them he assaulted

mother Aditi and grabbed her earrings.
Aditi was now deeply saddened and left to get help from Satyabhama.
Weeping and helpless Aditi came to Satyabhama and pleaded for help "O Satyabhama
please help me and my people from Narakasura by conveying our message to Lord
Krishna".

Satyabhama and Aditi soon left to meet Lord Krishna.

Upon seeing Aditi in tears he sweetly replied "do not worry gentle mother we shall
set things right".
He then turned to his wife Satyabhama and said "you always wanted to join me in
battle Satyabhama? so here's your chance.Gather your weapons and my devotee Garuda
will take us there".

Garuda replied "my lord I would do as you please", with that Garuda transported
them to Narakasuras capital.

After recognizing Krishna's and Satyabhama's arrival, Narakasura was astonished and
thought to himself "hahaha how foolish can they be no one can defeat me in battle
except my own mother and so I will surely win".

With this confidence he confronted Lord Krishna but before Krishna could ruin
Narakasura,Narakasura pulled out his weapon and started a battle with Lord Krishna,
During the battle Narakasura took out his most powerful weapon and hit Lord
Krishna on his chest.
The Lord became unconscious and fell to the ground, for a moment Sathya Bhama could
not believe what she'd seen and in a cry of agony and fury
she beamed "hey you foolish man you've hurt my lord and now I will not spare
you".Satyabhama took out her most powerful weapons the bow and arrow and aimed at
Narakasura and shot.

The arrow pierced his chest and Narakasura fell with agonizing pain.As an anxious
Satyabhama turned towards Krishna.

Krishna caught up with a smile on his face it was only claim to be defeated.
Narakasura was astonished that he had been defeated and with great pain he removed
the arrow from his chest and bow down to the Lord and he asked the Lord "how is it
possible for me to be defeated as I thought no one other than my own mother could
kill me "?

To this Lord Krishna gracefully replied "In satyabhamas previous life she was the
incarnation of your mother Bhoomi Devi and so she had the power to defeat you".

Upon realizing his mistake Narakasura exclaimed "Oh Lord I was blinded by power
and did not realize how much I hurt everyone",
he then turned towards his mother Satyabhama and continued "Oh mother please
forgive me for all of my sins as I have learned my lesson and now let this be a
lesson to all the demons on this day"

As this day will now be celebrated all over the world as a mark of good over evil.

Sathya Bhama concluded by announcing "people will celebrate this day by lighting
diyas or lamps all over the world to remove darkness and life and and pray to the
divine goddess lakshmi for her blessings and prosperity"
