Client Information Sheet – Do’s and Don’ts

Pre Hijama Treatment

● Please refrain from eating and drinking for at least 3 hours before the treatment.
● It would be advisable to have a showered before the treatment.
● Try to be in Wudhu before and during the hijama treatment
● Also try and do some light exercise before the treatment to get your blood flowing. ie
walking

Hijama after Care Instructions

● You will be provided with honey and water to drink after the treatment.
● Keep warm
● Eat a solid meal immediately after he treatment and eat healthy food, fruit and veg and light
meals over the next few days. Please avoid meat including chicken for 24 hours as it’s hard
to digest after hijama.
● You will have brushing and the incisions from wet Hijama which will heal between 3-10 days.
Apply black seed oil or olive oil to the incisions if the skin becomes irritated.
● Drink plenty of water/herbal teas.
● Do not shower for at least 24 hours after wet cupping as you may feel dizzy and faint.
● You must rest after the session and sleep a little.
● Do not physically exert yourself with too much exercise or housework. Go for a light walk
instead.
● Do not engage in sexual relations for at least 24 hours after any types of cupping.
● Try to remain relaxed, pray and have positive thoughts.
● Exercise moderately.
● It is advised to avoid driving for the day as you may feel dizzy.

Everyone’s body is different and reacts differently, some people may feel tired and others may have
more energy. If you do not rest on the first day of Hijama you will feel worse over the next few days
as your body has not had the opportunity to recover.
Other changes

Over the next few days you may notices changes in your

● Bowel and urinary patterns


● Sleep
● Moods and emotional state
● Appetite
● Skin breakouts, Tiredness and low energy so drink green juices/smoothies
● Flatulence or excess of bodily fluids, phlegm, mucus, sweat, urine which is all-part of the
detox process.

However, these will reduce over the week and you will receive a follow up call post treatment
from the practitioner regarding your reaction to Hijama.

Your body is becoming balanced as a result of these changes and you will see a positive balance
physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. You may feel worse before you get better as your
body is going through a healing process. However, you will see the benefits of Hijama after a few
sessions when your body becomes balanced.
