My 3 Steps To Finding Translation Clients On Social Media

Step 1: De ne Your Avatar

An avatar is the rendering of a human representation. So, the rst step to becoming a digital
nomad is to de ne your client’s avatar.

For that, you need to ask yourself a few questions about them and abouthow you can
serve them:

1. What is their name?

2. How old are they?
3. What are their pain points?
4. What books do they need?
5. What are they expecting from you?

As a translator, YOUR CLIENT is your social media avatar. So, stop targetting
other translators!

Step 2: Understand Your Social Media

Many (if not most of) translators simply don’t understand how a social media
business works. They will spend hours and hours behind their channels just
giving information that is not valuable for their avatar but for other colleagues,
who, certainly will appreciate it, but at the end of the day won’t give them
business.

Now, what is the structure of any social media business as the one you need to
build to get your clients? Here it is:

A
Coaching – Guide people with your skills
Online Courses – Teach people with your skills
Ads – for selling someone else’s products
If you want to start with quick wins at low cost, you might want to start with
af liate marketing by becoming af liate on pages you with products or services
you might want to promote on your own page.

And no, you don’t need a digital product to start marketing. You can simply sell
other people’s products (or services) for a commission!

Try to think of you as the matchmaker, solving other people's problems and
making money at the same time!

Step 3: Automate and Outsource

You need to automate your postings and your content. You cannot simply spend
hours and hours doing tasks that are of no value to you!

Try one of these tools:

Hootsuite

Schedugram

One of the main issues my colleagues is outsourcing. They think nobody can do
it better than them, and as such, they simply ll their agenda up with a lot of
tasks that have no value at all.

The same happens with social media. You need to learn how to leverage them at
a low cost, but eventually, you need to start outsourcing it in order for your day
to be useful!
