UNIT 4 : VOLUNTEER WORK
PART B: SPEAKING

I. OBJECTIVES:

-By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:

+Identify types of volunteer work

+Ask and answer questions about volunteer work

+Talk about volunteer work

II. METHODS:
Intergrated , mainly communicative

IV:ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
Ss may not know some words and confuse to speak, so T should well-prepared for
them.
V. PROCEDURES:

I. Warm- up (7 minutes)
“Slap the board”
-T divides class into 2 groups : A and B
-5 Ss in per group make 2 rows
-T picks 1 S come to the board and say a
sentence in T’s paper
-Ss turn around and run to slap the picture

-After that, T gives Ss the name of per


picture
-T gets Ss to repeat
-T asks Ss
“Do they need help?”
-Ss : Yes
-T: Have you ever helped them?
Ss: Yes
-T: So, how do we call this work?
-Ss: Volunteer work
-T: Exactly, and this is also our topic today.
-T leads to the lesson

II.Pre- Speaking (10 minutes)


-T teaches Ss some vocabularies and
grammars:
Vocabularies:
+War invalids and martyrs
+Intersections

-T gives them a situation


Imagines you are joining a volunteer work ,
I have an interview for you.
-T asks Ss some questions

”What kind of volunteer work are you


participating in?”
“ What exactly are you doing?”
“Do you enjoy the work?”

-T attaches the conversation on the board


-T asks some questions

S: ”What kind of volunteer work are you


participating in?”
T: “ I’m helping old and sick people”
S: “ What exactly are you doing?”
T: “I’m taking care of them”
S: “Do you enjoy the work?”
T: “Of course, I love it”
S: “Why do you like it?”
T: “Oh because I like helping miserable
people”
-T asks Ss to look at the answers
“Can you guess the tense here?
-Ss: Yes, Present continuous
-T” Please underline it” -T: Have a look the board and tell me how

and one by one read each sentence for “No matter where you choose to
