Description Of Knowledge and Family Roles Towards Nutrition For Teenagers in

Goverment High Scool 6 in Jambi City 2015

Nutrional problems in teenagers will have negative impact to public helat, such as
decline in concentration of learning and reduced physical activity. Anemia
prevalence about 40% while the teenagers prevalence with IMT less than normal
about 30%. There are many factors that caused this problems, but by indentified the
problem factor we can find the solution and also more focusing to the problem.

This researc is descriptive with survey approach which aim to deseribe of knowledge
and family roles towards nutrition for teenagers in govement high school 6 in Jambi
city 2015. This research conducted in juli 2015. Population in this study were 486
students and the sample are 49 students. The sample was taking by using
proportional random sampling tehnique. Data used in this researh were primary data
and secondary data. The analysis of this study was using univariate.

As the result shows that 10 respondents ( 20,4% ) have good knowledge, and 19
respondents ( 38,8% ) have sufficient knowladge than with poor knowladge 20
respondents ( 40,8% ). Furthemore, there are 20 respondents ( 40,8% ) have good
family roles and 29 responden ( 59,2% ) have poor family roles. However, there are
18 respondents ( 36,7% ) have good nutrition and 31 respondents ( 63,3% ) have
poor nutrition.

Therefore we suggest the school can cooperate with healt professimals to find the
solution and provide counseling about nutrition for teenagers to increase their
knowledge and motivate them to have good nutrition.
