World Hunger, Education. “World Food Crisis: What's Behind It What We Can Do.” World

Hunger News, 2008, www.worldhunger.org/world-food-crisis/. This website covers global

hunger on many levels. It is interactive with also lots of focus on educating people about hunger.

This website will be the one I will use for most of my research since it has so much information.

The purpose of creating this website was to inform people as many people as he could about

world hunger. There are many authors and from what I have found they are credible, many are

doctors and educators. I will be able to use this website in my research and it is relevant to my

topic.

Brown, Lester R. Full Planet, Empty Plates: The New Geopolitics of Food Scarcity. New York :

W. W. Norton , 2012. This book discusses the locations of hunger and poverty and how they

work within the economy. It questions if some people benefit from others being in poverty. The

purpose of writing this book was to evaluate and inform. The author of the book is credible, his

name is Lester Brown. He founded the world watch institute and is a very well-known

environmentalist. I will be using this book as reference for my research because it is very

relevant to my topic. I think that it will help me answer possibly why there is so much hunger,

since I have asked a few questions about this topic.

Rice, Ketra Lachell. “Measuring the Likelihood of Food Insecurity and Adult Consumption of

Fruits and Vegetables in Ohio's 'Food Deserts' / by Ketra Lachell Rice.” Ohio State University ,
Columbus, Ohio State University , 2007, pp. 1–140. This is a scholarly article that I will use to

answer my questions that I have asked. She talks about where people are located based on

income and what kind of access that they have to fresh fruits and vegetables. She talks about

people who live in areas that are more poverty stricken that they really can only get too a fast

food place and places where fresh food is available are many more miles away. This is relevant

to my research because it can bring light to more reasons that some may be hungry.

Menker, Sara, director. A Global Food Crisis May Be Less Than A Decade Away. Ted, Ted,

2017,

www.ted.com/talks/sara_menker_a_global_food_crisis_may_be_only_a_decade_away?language

=en. This is a TED talk that discusses food shortages. She used big macs as a reference actually

and said that by 2050 in order to meet the constant demand for these calories mc Donald’s in one

year alone will have to produce more than they ever have. The speaker is credible because she

has launched and organization that is trying to work towards her call to action. This talk will be

relevant to my research because she is trying to answer one of my research proposal questions.

United, Nations. “Sustainable Development Goals.” United Nations Foundation, 2019,

unfoundation.org/what-we-do/issues/sustainable-development-goals/. This is another website

that I use and will continue to use for my research. It doesn’t have one author but many. The

website is credible because it is a very well-known organization called the United Nations. It will

be relevant to my research because I know that the information provided will be up to date.

Jacobson, Kristi and Lori Silverbush, directors. A Place at the Table. Jiro Dreams of Sushi

(Official Movie Site) - Directed by David Gelb - Available on DVD and Blu-Ray™ - Trailer,

Pictures & More, 2013, www.magpictures.com/aplaceatthetable/. This is a movie, that I haven’t

watched yet but after researching about the movie itself. It will be a great source for my research.
It goes into the lives of 3 families across America and their struggle to find adequate nutrition. It

will shed light on my research topic because I asked how much hunger is truly in America.
