2 Fracture

2.2.1 Definition of Fracture

Fracture is the the condition which bone tissue continuity was disconnected which are
caused by trauma and physical power (Rendi, 2012). Fracture is a morphological damage on
continuity of bone or part of bone like epiphyte plate cartilage (Chang, 2010). In normally
conditions, bone can withstand pressure, but if there is greater emphasis or collision and exceeds
the ability of bone to survive, fracture will occur (Garner, 2008).

Fracture is disconnection of bone and is determined according to the type and extent
(Wijaya, 2013). Fracture is discontinuity in bone tissue and or cartilage continuity that is
generally caused by rudeness (Jitowiyono, 2012). Fracture will happen if bone restistance against
pressure to produce power for push. When the fracture occurs on a bone, then periosteum and
blood vessel in the cortex, marrow, and soft tissue around it will have disrupsi. Hematoma will
formed between both the tip of the fracture and under the periosteum, and then granulation tissue
replace that hematoma (Wong, 2009).

2.2.2 Fracture Complications

1. Nerve trauma

2. Blood vessel trauma

Indication ischemia post trauma: pain, pulseless, paresthesia, pale, paralise

compartement syndrome: collection of symptoms that happened because trauma damage
in first 6 hours period, if not cleaned up then until necrose occurs amputation.

3. Bone complication

a. Delayed union: slow bone union

b. Non union

c. Mal union
d. Joint stiffness

e. Nekrosis avaskuler

f. Osteoarthritis

g. Simpatik distrofi reflex

4. Post traumatic stress

5. Can arise embolic fat after fracture especially long bone.

Background (latar belakang)

Anathomy of the human body is a series of knowledge about arrangement of parts and
body equipment that froms functional system under normal circumstance. Knowledge every
thing normal is the important terms for learn abnormal things (pathological) in discussing any
changes in body structure. Bone structure and connective tissue compile almost 25% weight and
muscle connective almost 50% health and good musculoskeletal system very depend with
another body system.

Bone structure give protection vital organs, including brain, heart, and lungs. Bones is
one of element system human bone enforcer and activator connected to one and another through
joins in other to formed passive locomotor system. Bone shape bones helper and protection for
the body and also for muscle sticking for move the body frame. Bone is tissue the hard one from
all tissue in body because contains phosphoric lime salts which consistes of cells. Every muscle
arrounding by connective tissue muscle wrapping.
