Flow and Thermal analysis of Ventilation Air compressor chamber
Heat dissipation characteristics of Air Compressor chamber is analyzed under forced convection.
Geometric and position changes were introduced for effective heat dissipation. Flow and noise were
optimized with these changes.
Tools: ANSA, T-Grid, Fluent
Heat dissipation characteristics of DG Shelter
Heat transfer in a Diesel Generator shelter with two DG sets is studied, comprising Diesel generator,
radiator and alternator as assembly. Air flows through louvers are observed with CFD. Orientation
changes for baffles were suggested for better heat dissipation.
Tools: Design Modeler, ANSYS Meshing, Fluent
Flow analysis of After Treatment system
Flow analysis of After Treatment system is done for determining the back pressure across exhaust
system. The pressure & velocity profile within exhaust system is studied to find flow uniformity at
catalyst inlets. And the inclusion of perforation plate is done to improve the flow distribution in the
Porous medium (Catalyst).
Tools: Design Modeler, ANSYS Meshing, Fluent
Thermal analysis of MVC assembly
The scope of this project is to predict and improve the flow and thermal behavior of heat emitting
electronics components and assembly inside MVC container. Thermal behavior of these systems purely
depends on the design of air-conditioning, position and flow nature inside the system. Hot spots and
the hot zones are identified and improvements are made to keep the temperature within limit.
Tools: Space claim, ANSYS Meshing, Fluent
Study of Air-flow and Temperature fields in Passenger Compartment for Thermal Comfort
In this project, the environment simulation of an automobile without passengers is carried out to
investigate the temperature distributions and its variation trends
3D Steady and unsteady simulation results inside the compartment are obtained using commercial
software Fluent
Steady and Unsteady states are again simulated for compartment with passengers.
The effects of outside temperature, vehicle velocity, conditions of air-inlet( temperature, volume,
directions) are investigated
The results obtained from the simulation have been validated against the
results
available in the literature and ideal muffler design for decreased back pressure is
proposed
