Country Profile: India

1. Geography

The unique geographical features of India are the main sources of water called the Great Plains

that are dominated by three rivers called the Indus, Ganges, Brahmaputra (Water). This is

important to India because that's the main water they drink in their country and it very easy

because they don't have to invest in water because it already there for them and they have an easy

access to water. In India they have a few environmental problems such as land damage, water

shortages and air and water pollution. One of the main problems of environmental issues in

India is pollution. The biggest source of water in India is untreated water sewage and it is

reported that India will run out of water by 2020 because not only there is a lot of untreated

water but because the population is predicted to grow fast every year (Pollution). The

deterioration of natural resources and unsafe living conditions like the problems with pollutions

and more affect the living conditions of people and there health risk (Issues).

2. Politics

Its was reported that 1% richest Indians owned 53% of the country's wealth while the 90% of

Indians own less than the countries wealth. This is bad because that means the country is poor
and they are trapped in a vicious circles of poverty. It also means that the richer are getting more

richer and the poor are growing more poor(Poverty). Unique political features in India are the

religious diversity, there are 8 major religions in India with smaller following and that makes

India’s democracy more complex and everybody has religious freedom which people would be

happy about India(Religion). Current events that have shaped India has been the bad history

between pakistan with 3 wars and possibly another war recently with nuclear threats that has

cause some people to not like their current president Ram Nath Kovind because of all the chaos

he could cause but also some people agree what he's doing because he showing that their not

scared to fight back and attack too (India on alert).

3. Economy

Unique features of India's economy is that its the developing economy of the world .There is also

a high population before poverty line(economy). India's trading partners are United States of

America with 16% of total indian imports, the UAE with a total trading percentage of 9%, and

China with 5.1% trade(partners). India’s economy is unique because they do minimal trading

because they try to use most of their domestic products and natural resources. Northern part of

India are farm lands with rich soil, cultural architecture and modern buildings in the city, and

Himalayan Mountains (location) that effect Indians daily life and environment.

4. Daily Life
Indian culture is among the world's oldest about 4,500 years old it is the dominant religion in

india. 84 percent of Indians believe in Hindu there are many variations of Hinduism such as

Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shakteya, and Smarta(Culture). Men and Women dress in colorful robes and

women wear jewelry out of precious stone(Clothing). Transportation was one of the most unique

things in their daily life there are rarely any cars in the street with mostly motorcycles and

carriages which to add the streets are dirt roads(transportation).
