ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF EEE
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering since its
inception in 1996 has consistently brought laurels to the college.
Continuing with ISO certification, the department has reached yet another
milestone by being accredited by NBA since 2003. Our department has
been enriched with well planned & sophisticated laboratories to fulfill our
student’s educational & industrial needs. The personality development
and career awareness of our students are continuously monitored and
improved by conducting special programs during every semester. The
department faculty members besides teaching are involved in many
activities like continuing education, technical consultancy and research &
development and student guidance. We have 37 faculty members to guide
our students and perform their best. We have planned to bring together
the eminent personalities in the academic institutions, industries and
research organizations to facilitate exchange of innovative ideas in the
field of power electronics and power systems engineering. We are the only
department to have two PG courses. The Department has signed MoU
with Nuvoton Technology Corporation and BSNL. The department also
has formed three IEEE students chapter Technical society and one affinity
group
Preference will be given to participants less than 30 years of age.
Selection based on first come, first served basis.
CERTIFICATION
Participants who complete the program satisfactorily will be awarded a
certificate of participation by our institute along with the course material.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be arranged based on the request of the participants
and the availability of the rooms.
COURSE FEE
A course fee of Rs.750 will be collected for the faculty members from
academic institutions and Rs 1500 will be collected for the participants
from the industry. There is no on-spot registration. Maximum participants
are limited to 30 only.
HOW TO REGISTER
The registration form is available in the brochure or can be downloaded
from the college website. The registration fee should be paid in the form
of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “St.Joseph’s College of Engineering”,
payable at Chennai. The last date for registration is November 23, 2015.

The aim of this FDP is to introduce young teachers and researchers to
understand the phenomenon of transients in power system and to enhance CHIEF PATRON
the knowledge of modeling and simulation in the field of power system Dr. B. BABU MANOHARAN, M.A., M.B.A., Ph.D.,
transients. The curriculum of this program will be based on Anna Managing Director
University syllabus, also include some advanced topics and hands on
experience of simulation tools used for power system transients. Experts PATRONS
