EMPORIA
During the 2nd day of our Pharmacy Week, Emporia was exhibited. Emporia is an exhibit
for our Pharmaceutical Marketing subject which is embodied by all the 4th year Pharmacy
students of UST. When we arrived at the hall where we should put up our booth, I noticed
how the students put up all their efforts in this project. Of course, we wouldn’t want to be
left out. Honestly, we didn’t have much time to prepare for the designs and the concepts
of what our booth would be. We weren’t so much ready for it until we have arrived. So,
we have rushed everything. Luckily, we have worked together and made it nearly
successful. Of course, the event would not stop at the booth concept, what is more
important is the reason behind why we have put it up. Our group was assigned to the
Advocacy aspect. Our advocacy, BakUNA, is all about promoting and regaining the trust
of the public to vaccines. We have heard that 3 groups among the batch were also after
the vaccine campaign, so we made ideas that would make our advocacy differ from theirs.
When we have started disseminating our advocacy, I realized that its hard to make people
notice what you are up to. Some are interested, some are not. All in all, it is fun because
we had the chance to let them know the importance of vaccines that made them sign up
for our petition. At first, we’d had a short list of advocates but when our groupmate came
up with the idea to put up a game that can caught the students’ attention, it suddenly
made many to sign up. The game was fun and even us enjoyed it. The event was very
successful. As we visit other booths of the advocacy, services, and products, I noticed
how all of us can be very creative in terms of putting up a unique concept. Over all, we
have enjoyed it and I can consider it as a form of bonding not just with our block mates,
but as batch. I have learned so much in this event. It made me realize that it is not easy
to put up a business and to market it. Of all the competitors outside the circle, it would
make you lose hope and will make you think that your ideas weren’t enough, but at the
end of the day you can’t just sit and made it all lose. But instead, you will really think of
things that would make you differ from others, and the only way to do it is by making it as
a group and with the help of others. We have exercised many values in this event. It
wasn’t just for the grade, it is also for building up your attitude towards people.
