About the place

The name itself catches the heart and the mouth-watering minds of the Filipinos. Have
you ever wondered why it is named Manggahan? Their first branch of Manggahan was
built at Lahug. It was named Manggahan because there was a big Mango tree behind
the restaurant. Their branch here in The Outlets, Pueblo Verde was built on December
2015. As you can see, the place is strategic and the manager even called it the ‘’Home
Market”. As we walked inside, the place was spacious and open. The design was
simple and calming. You can smell the aroma of freshly cooked dishes from the
kitchen. There were no walls that separate their kitchen to the dining area where you
can hear the sizzling noises of food calling you. Going inside gives you enough reason
to eat and try their dishes. One of their problems about the design of the place is that,
their air conditioner cannot circulate well and their kitchen is just open. The exhaust fan
in the kitchen vacuums the cold air. Some customers complain because it is hot but the
customer service is great. They provide electric fans to each table to satisfy their
customers. They also have acoustic band for entertainment available only during the
night and chill electric music during the day. Manggahan is not a well-known restaurant,
yet many people come and visit it. How do they advertise their restaurant? Well,
according to the manager, their best advertising agent is their waiters. It’s just like the
game, pass the message. Paired with delicious foods, and customer friendly and
entertaining waiters, who would not share their unforgettable experience at
Manggahan?

About the food

Listening to the sound of simmering oil and boiling water, the scent of spices running
through your nose, plus the good vibes of the music, the ambiance of this place takes
you back to your home. We were amazed with their menu. They serve exotic foods like
frog, crocodile, and catfish. We ordered two of their best-selling dish, the manager
suggested crocodile sisig, and fried “hito” or catfish. First, we tried the fried hito. As we
sliced the catfish, you can hear the crispiness of the freshly fried catfish as juice came
out appetizingly. We enjoyed eating the crispy skin while the inside was soft and tastes
like no other. Next, the crocodile sisig. We spiced up the sisig before serving it. It was
an opportunity to taste this kind of exotic dish because only chosen restaurants are
permitted to serve crocodiles. The meat was extra-ordinary. The aftertaste makes you
want to eat again, and again, and again. To sum up everything, the food was great and
we had our one of the most unforgettable moment together. This place is ideal for family
and for great friends.
