Job description Dr Teresa Crew, along with a small international group of academics, have recently set up
the International Association of Working Class Academics. This new membership
association aims to support working class students and academics in navigating higher
education. The Intern will play a key role in the early stages of this association by working
on some key tasks:
- Design and set up a website to promote the new association. The Intern will liaise
with members of the association here.
- Event planning. Support academics in setting up a conference. The Intern will be
given the task of monitoring a particular email address and dealing with queries.
- Conducting a literature review into ‘social class and academics’. The Intern will be
required to find suitable research and record details, including summary in Excel.
- Promotional activities
- General administration

Person Able to design a website or Wordpress site, from scratch. Intern will need to show at least
one example of a site they have designed.
requirements Good analytical skills – with an interest in research
Competent IT skills, e.g web design, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Excellent communication and organisational skills
An understanding and interest in ‘Social Class’.
