(D Gear reducers.
For direct connecting high speed drives,
integral gear reducers are available for
most pumps. Other models incorporate
an internal pinion shaft which provides
great flexibility for changes in pumping
conditions. The "J" series reducers can
be adapted to existing "J" pumps
already in service.
(D Fluid ends.
Fluid ends are available for low,
medium, and high pressure applica-
tions. Materials can be furnished to
handle fluids of all types. A partial list
includes:

Suction dampeners.
NATIONAL-OILWELL suction dampen-
ers eliminate harmful surges in the
suction system. They help develop
higher pump efficiencies and extend
service life. Your NATIONAL-OILWELL
Representative will help you select the
dampener for optimum performance.
The NATIONAL-OILWELL low pressure
suction dampener has a rugged plastic
body and contains a special, formed
diaphragm that can be charged with an
ordinary tire pump. Clear plastic win-
dows in the dampener body allow a
visual check of the diaphragm. The
dampener is rated at 20 psi (1.406 kg/
cm2) maximum working pressure.
The NATIONAL-OILWELL high pres-
sure suction dampener has a high-
strength cast aluminum body, protected
internally by a baked-on plastic coating.
Rated at 70 psi (4.9 kg/cm2) maximum
working pressure, it is available in a
weld-end model as well as a weld-on
model to fit existing suction systems.

We make it easy to select the right
multiplex pump to best meet your antici-
pated volume and pressure require-
ments. First calculate the hydraulic
horsepower. Then determine the input
horsepower required. Use input horse-
power to indentify the smallest pump
suitable for the application or the combi-
nation of pumps needed to meet the
total requirement. Further selection of
plunger size and operating speed will
tailor the pump to your volume and
discharge pressure requirements.
