LATH Resolution - A0001

WHEREAS, The Lucerne Town Hall, aka "Lucerne Area Town Hall" purpose is to
increase the participation of the residents from the Lucerne community growth
boundary in the decision-making processes that affect their area; and

WHEREAS, the County of Lake has determined to declare surplus and sell the
Lucerne Hotel; and

WHEREAS, The will and the property tax increment dollars from Lucerne
taxpayers paid to fund the former redevelopment agency which purchased the
Lucerne Hotel; and

WHEREAS, the County of Lake will receive unanticipated revenue from the sale;
and

WHEREAS, budgeted funds for dredging and improvements at Lucerne Harbor


park were redirected to repair Holiday Harbor in Nice; and

WHEREAS, Lucerne Harbor Park is among the county’s busiest boating parks;
and

WHEREAS, Dredging the harbor would remove an impediment to the town’s


economic development, increase visitor use, and support the county’s economic
engine of Lucerne.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lucerne Area Town Hall


Council of Lucerne, California formally urges the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Lake to earmark the proceeds from the sale of the Lucerne Hotel to be
re-invested in Lucerne, initially funding dredging of Lucerne Harbor Park, and
purchase and installation of new docks to expand available dock space.
