WRITE THE OBJECTIVES ACCORDING TO THE OBSERVATION GUIDELINES:

1. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO SAY ‘WHERE ARE THEY FROM’.
2. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO SAY ‘WHAT THEY ARE DOING’.
3. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO SING THE SONG RELATED TO THE
LESSON.

Notes while observing:

Introduction
T makes Ss to be quiet because they don’t sit their chairs and talk loudly.
After quieting them down, T starts to sing the song with the students.
Ss imitate the teacher’s song and motion.
(I think the song is the one that everyone knows in the class).
There are more than 3 songs that T and Ss sing together.
After finishing singing the song, T asks Ss , “where are I from?”
And then the Ss answer the question.
T asks Ss to sing the song of ‘where are you from’.
T and Ss starts to sing the song together.
During the song, T uses a stick to pick some national flag on the top.
Whenever T picks each national flag, Ss sing the song by switching the country.
When the song is finished, T says, “okay, great!”.
And then T and Ss starts to sing the other song, which is ‘raise your hand to the sky with
the motion’.
Also, T asks Ss , “what do you do? And what do we do?” and makes Ss sing a song about
that.
T says “very good” to the Ss.

Presentation
T asks Ss by sticking pictures on the whiteboard. “what is it?”

Ss answers “swimming”.
Then T thumbs up for praising the students.
T turns on the TV and says “look at this!”
T asks Ss, “where is the sun?”
Ss answer “it’s on the tree.” And then T asks Ss again, “is it under the tree?”
Ss anwer the question “No!!”.
After that, T picks a boy in the picture and asks “what is he doing?”
A student says, “he is running. Catch the baby”.
T says, ”yes, he is running to catch the baby. Very good”.
T asks Ss to answer. “what is she doing?”
A student says, “she is seeing the sun” and then T says , “she is doing nothing”.
Also, T asks a question by picking the picture, ‘Where is he?”
A student says , “in the see” and T says, “excellent”.
T picks the other woman and asks a question, “what dose she wear?’
And Ss says, “she is wearing sunglasses”.

Practice
T shows a video related to the lesson and Ss look like being funny.
After watching the video, T asks some questions and make the students raise their hands.
One student raise the hand and T gives a chance to tell the answer.

What did you learn about teaching or learning from this lesson as it relates to the
theory you have studied in your TESOL classes? Include at least one reference (with
an in-text citation) to support your response. (250-500 words)
When I decided the lesson among the several lessons, I had interest about the
kindergarten lesson because it is hard to observe the kindergarten class. Though this was
an online class, I think it will help me to learn about the class of kindergarten.
I wanted to know about how to handle kindergarteners in class because they are
distracted and very active even in class. When the class is started, the teacher made them
to be quiet by holding his finger in his mouth. The younger the learner, the shorter the
attention span. You need to pace your teaching carefully, and vary activities to hold the
learners’ attention (David Nunan,2005).
Also, I wanted to know the method of teaching in the kindergarten. For example,
the teacher used a song with the students. The students danced with the song together.
The teacher used video for the lesson. It means that there are more visual materials in the
kindergarten class. I think that the visual materials are good for the children because it
can be helpful to make them concentrate better. It was true in the class when the teacher
played a video. From this fact, I can know that it is important to use adequate materials
for the students in the class for the effective teaching and learning.
Even in the presentation and practice part, the teacher used visual things to
explain the contents of the class. For example, by picking a picture, the teacher asked
some questions related to the grammar. The students participate actively the class. I think
this is because many pictures are used in the question.
The most interesting thing in the class for me that the song used in the class. This
is because all of the students can sing along in the class and it looks like cooperating

together. If I can have an opportunity to teach the kindergarten class, I also want to use
this method for them.
