Who we are
We are the learning and education business
of PwC operating across the Middle East and
are part of a growing network of PwC
Academies present in over 35 countries
worldwide. We have been developing our
own people for over 100 years and it is this
deep experience of helping professionals
become business leaders that is embedded
into all PwC’s Academy programmes. We are
different because we use both subject matter
experts within the PwC network and
dedicated Academy staff, each of whom
bring their wealth of knowledge and

Getting qualified

To become an ACCA member, you must meet the eligibility requirements

which include passing exams in 13 subjects (exemptions from some
subjects are available for relevant degrees), completion of an ethics
module, and gaining 36 months of relevant work experience.

• The Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills
modules are computer based exams.
All parts under the Applied Knowledge
module and LW are demand based and
can be taken throughout the year.
The remaining parts under the Applied
Skills module can be taken during four
examinations sessions each year in March,
June, September and December
• The pass mark for all papers is 50%
• Exams consist of a mixture of multiple
choice, objective test and written questions
• Upon completing the Applied Knowledge
module, students will be awarded the
ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business
• The Advanced Diploma in Accounting
and Business is awarded upon successful
completion of the Applied Skills module.
At this point students are eligible to
apply for the Oxfords Brookes Bachelor’s
degree in Applied Accounting
• After completing all exams, students
are also eligible to apply for MSc in
Professional Accountancy from
University of London
• Students will be eligible for ACCA
membership upon completion of 13 exams,
36 months of practical experience in a
relevant role and ACCA’s Ethics and
Professional Skills module. The ACCA
membership is equivalent to a Master’s
degree in the level of ability demonstrated.

Note: Students must register themselves with ACCA in order to ensure they are able to take their exams.

Minimum entry requirements

1. Two A-levels and three GCSEs
(or their equivalent)
2. These need to be in five separate subjects
including English and Math’s
If you don’t meet the minimum entry
requirements, you can join the ACCA by first
completing the Foundations in Accountancy
(FIA) programme (AB, MA, FA papers).
After completing the FIA you can then
continue with the skills modules.

How long does it take?

The pace at which you study for your ACCA
is very flexible. But there is a ten year time
limit to complete the exams which starts
from the date of your initial registration.

You can choose how you study, how often

you sit your exams and where you get your
relevant practical experience. You can
also choose between afternoon and
evening classes.

Full time students typically complete their

studies in 1.5-2 years and part time students in
3-3.5 years. However this will be dependent in
part on the number of exemptions awarded if
you already hold a bachelor’s degree. For more

Lecturer profiles
Chris Cain
ACCA, ACG, NLP
Chris is a director at PwC’s Academy.
Chris joined the Accountancy
Department in the largest ACCA public sector
college in the UK over 25 years ago. His first
private sector lecturing work was at Reed
Business School before setting up his own
ACCA college in 1990 in Birmingham. Chris’s
college became the fastest growing ACCA
college because of the unique exam and
memory technique approaches developed by
Chris and the exceptional pass rates achieved
by his students. He has also written the
syllabus for the ACCA on Business Planning
and Strategy.
Jenny Plumtree
ACA (ICAEW), BSc.
Jenny is an experienced lecturer,
and senior manager in PwC’s
Academy with over 10 years’ experience in
professional qualification training. Jenny’s
training experience is split between the UK
and Middle East, working in the UK (London)
for seven years and specialising in professional
examination training in UK Taxation (ICAEW,
ACCA, AAT, CIMA) and Case Study (ICAEW)
before moving to the Middle East and
continuing to deliver taxation courses for both
the ICAEW and ACCA qualifications.

Daniyal Tanveer
ACCA, ACA (ICAEW)
Daniyal is a faculty member at PwC’s
Academy and has over seven years of
training experience. He is a motivated finance
professional and a specialist lecturer for
ACCA subjects including financial accounting
and reporting, management accounting
and tax. He is a versatile trainer and is
also responsible for delivering tailor made
programmes targeted at training corporate
clients on financial skills such as financial
statement analysis and finance for
non-finance professionals.
Waleed Minhas
ACCA
Waleed is a faculty member at
PwC’s Academy. He has over seven
years of industry and training experience.
He has trained hundreds of students for
various professional qualifications, including
ACCA and CMA, and on several financial
management courses. Waleed’s experience
in UK and UAE gives him hands on industry
experience, which he incorporates in his
teachings as real life examples, linking
theoretical aspects to the practical world.

Huzefa Hydrie
ACCA
Huzefa is a faculty member at
PwC’s Academy. His areas of
expertise include cash flow management,
IFRS, Project Feasibilities, Budgeting and
Forecasting, Management Accounting,
Assets Management and Business and
Financial Analysis. Huzefa is a member
of the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA-UK) with a Bachelors
in Commerce. He has over three years of
progressive experience in the accounting
and finance industry and has taught
various subjects for the ACCA, FIA and
CMA qualifications.
Mary Borromeo
CPA
Mary is a Senior Manager at PwC’s
Academy. Her areas of expertise
include Financial Accounting and Reporting
and Audit and Assurance. Mary is a Certified
Public Accountant (CPA) and a specialist
lecturer for ACCA and CPA courses. Over
a span of 6 years, Mary has delivered
numerous trainings in assurance to several
hundred candidates including external
auditors and has also been actively involved
in training PwC staff as a part of their
learning and development.
Amanda Abraham
ACCA, ACGP
Amanda is a faculty member at
PwC’s Academy. She has over five
years of professional experience
including industry and training
experience. She is a specialist lecturer
for ACCA and ASC and has trained
hundreds of candidates at PwC’s
Academy in UAE and Oman.

Dr. Constantine Kritsis
APBM, MA, BA
Dr. Constantine is a consultant
and faculty member at PwC’s
Academy. He has extensive experience in
education and professional training and
development. He has delivered over 7,000
hours of professional training over the past
15 years. Within his specialist areas he
has taught ACCA, CIMA, Diploma in IFRS
and CIA professional qualifications and a
number of MBA programmes within highly
reputable Universities.
Uditi Shah
ACA
Uditi is a faculty member of PwC’s
Academy. Her areas of expertise
include taxation and law. She has trained
hundreds of students in various professional
qualifications and has taught subjects
relating to direct taxation, indirect taxation,
business and corporate law. At PwC’s Academy,
she teaches the ACCA and ASC qualifications.
Nausher Ahmed
ACCA, CFA
Nausher is a professional
qualifications trainer at PwC’s
Academy and has been involved in the delivery
of accounting, finance, governance, ethics and
financial management courses for the ACCA,
ASC and CMA qualifications. He has delivered
presentations to large audiences and has been
active in providing counselling to high school
graduates at the Qatar Academy.
