Survival of the Fittest

by Coyle Loughran
The scene opens to the blank screen with the
image of the narrator looking towards the
audience.

Narrator:

Hi there! My name is yusei! Today we will

be looking at the interesting events that
unfold through survival of the fittest,
seeing the change of a singular species
over the course of generations.

Rumans pop up on the screen.

Narrator:

These are Rumans, similar to humans during

the early stages of the species evolution,
we are going jump into their world and see
them in action!

Screen fades to 3d Maya screen displaying the

creatures /Rumans (camera focus and a pair
looking for food).
Narrator:

As you can see the Rumans hunt and frolic

naturally but look closely at the tall
grass with a predator waiting to catch the
Rumans.

Screeper lunges at the Ruman but fails to reach

the Ruman. The Ruman ducks all the way to the
ground, due to it’s liquid like body

Narrator:

See there - the Ruman is narrowly escaping

death thanks to its boneless body, then we can
see them returning to where ever its home is.
So, lets change it up shall we? How about drop
the temperature down about -60*f.

3D Maya scene changes into a more snow-white

bleak setting.
Narrator:

Now due to the cold weather that the Rumans

are experiencing, their bodies become a lot
less functional than before, with the drop-
in temperature leading to some dying and
the others...
Cuts to the scene of quick death montage.

Narrator:

Now with their species on the verge of

extinction the use of survival reproduction
comes into play.

Screen cuts to black with “censored” written

across the front

Narrator:

This is the part where their species

reproduces for the survival of the race,
but we don’t need to see that bit , if you
want to know more ask your biology teacher.
Now “looking quite a bit in discomfort”,
shall we move on to the next bit?

Screen turns a diagram of generations of Rumans

leading up to generation 10.
Narrator:

As we can see from this diagram, we see the

Rumans have reformed to adapt to the
environment. The environment has changed
around them leading to generation 10, where
they have become more adapted to the
environment around them with evolutionary
advantages.

Narrator:

Now looking at our adapted Rumans in this

cold environment, they move with more
purpose with easier movements, thanks to
their thick skin, aerodynamic figures and
developed minds.

Showing animation of the Rumans hunting while

the paragraph above is being told.
Then screen fades to another blank setting

Narrator:

Even though this animation was brief you

have just seen “Survival of the fittest” in
action, and how it effects a species such
as Rumans.
