Report of Advantage and Disadvantage of Mobile Phones for Students

In this era of science and technology, the mobile phone play a crucial part in our lives.
Mobile phones are really essential for everyone’s life. But, it doesn’t mean that you can’t live
a life without a mobile phone. It is one of the most useful inventions of all time and it has
brought us a lot of advantage, such as in communication, in the way we obtain information,
in the field of entertainment, shop in online stores, and so much more. Technology has made
life easier. However, mobile phone has also brought with it many problems.When we talk
about school students, having a mobile phone is 50-50% of advantage and disadvantage.
With using mobile phone, a student can improve themselves with the help of the mobile
phone, meanwhile, the student can spoil their life with the help of mobile phone. Article A is
about the advantage of mobile phone for students while article B is about the disadvantage
of mobile phone for students. So, in this report, I’m going to figure out the advantage and
disadvantage of mobile phone for students.

Obviously, now that mobile phones are ubiquitous, mobile communication is seen
more as a convenience. The very first positive point of mobile phones is communication.
With mobile phones, we can communicate with anyone from anywhere at any time.
Facebook, WeChat, Weibo etc are the famous social networking site. It makes it convenient
for people to communicate. By using internet wisely, students can get many information to
enrich their knowledge. Secondly, it’s also very clear to all that mobile phones came to this
world for emergency purposes. Likewise, a student with a phone can contact police at any
harmful situation, or contact fire brigade if find fire somewhere. So, the mobile phone is one
of the best solutions for any emergency situation.

Mobile phones bring pleasure and relax people. Mobile phones are quickly becoming
portable entertainment devices nowadays. People now can enjoy music and karaoke
through our mobile phones. Mobile phones have become a source of unlimited
entertainment. Mobile phones have come into existence which not only help you in making
calls but also help you to stay entertained by allowing you to play games, listen to music and
do lots of other stuff. We can also share music, videos and any other file. The things which
we never thought would be present in a mobile phone are now possible.

On the other hand, the mobile phone is also many disadvantage. Student nowadays
can’t live without their mobile phone, phone user become to addicted on their mobile phone.
Young people have become less caring because of mobile phone. Look around you very
likely you will see many people looking at their mobile phone and not talking to the people
around them. Moreover, the ability of human communication is limited if the mobile phone is
more present in some event such as class meetings, on the bus, in the park. Sometime,
people are on their phones during meals and parties.

Another major disadvantage of having a mobile phone is family time are disrupted by
the mobile phones. Before these phones and technology, student spent plenty of time with
their family. Now students spend their free time with the mobile phone, either playing games
or chatting with friends via mobile phones. There are negative effect on health that can be
associated with the use of mobile phones. One of the worst effect is near-sightedness. The
condition is caused by spending long time staring at the screen of mobile phone at the short
distance. Final, we shouldn't use mobile phone while we are driving because it can lead
traffic accidents.

In conclusion, although having a smartphone has many benefits, it also has

drawbacks that cannot be ignored. However it is helpful or not, which depends on our ways
of using it. We should not allow internet to distract or disturb our mind. We should use it in a
way that brings harmony in life.
