SIZE OF THE UNIT

Every business is striving towards attaining the optimum size. What is an

optimum size of a business? The optimum size is when the firm has reached its
maximum efficiency. At this stage the average cost per unit of the firm is at its
lowest. It is at this point that the size of the firm should not be changed i.e.
increased or lowered. Usually, any business starts as a small entity and then
during its operating period, it expands till it reaches the optimum size.

There are two main things that will make the firm to either attain the
optimum size or not to attain it. The two things are:

1.) The kind of decision the management makes.

2.) Competition. Eight Factors that Determine the Size of Business

There are a number of factors that you can consider in measuring the size
of a business. The following are some of the factors
1.) Total Asset
2.) Power used
3.) Capital Investment Factor
4.) Volume of the Output
5.) Value of Output
6.) Capacity of Plant
7.) Number of Employees
8.) Raw Materials Used

J.D.Products is a small scale industry, based on the above factors.

15
FORM OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATON

One of the first decisions that you will have to make as a business owner is
how the business should be structured. All businesses must adopt some legal
configuration that defines the rights and liabilities of participants in the business’s
ownership, control, personal liability, life span, and financial structure. This
decision will have long-term implications, so you may want to consult with an
accountant and attorney to help you select the form of ownership that is right for
you. In making a choice, you will want to take into account the following:

• Vision regarding the size and nature of your business.

•The level of control you wish to have.
•The level of “structure” you are willing to deal with.
•The business’s vulnerability to lawsuits.
•Tax implications of the different organizational structures.
•Expected profit (or loss) of the business.
•Whether or not you need to re-invest earnings into the business.
•Your need for access to cash out of the business for yourself.
An overview of the four basic legal forms of organization: Sole Proprietorship;
Partnerships; Corporations and Limited Liability Company follows.

J.D.Products is a sole proprietor company. It is owned by the sole owner of the

business i.e. in these company sole owner is Mr.Jashmat Thummer. Under the
owner all employees are working.

16
AIM OF THE BUSINESS

Since organization are measured and purposive creations, they have some
objective; the end results for which they struggle.

These end results are referred to as ‘Mission’, ‘Purpose’, ‘Objective’, ‘Goal’,

‘Target’, ‘Aim’, etc.

Aim helps the organization to link its activities to the needs of the society and

Location of the Unit

When a new industrial unit is to be established, the most important

particular industry is called industrial location. The entrepreneur has to locate the
firm at such a place from where company can easily get the raw materials and
other basic facilities.

Location means, “selection of place for establishment of industry where the cost
of production is the lowest at the time of establishment.”

LOCATION OF THE UNIT:

J.D.Products,
Aji ring road Bypass,
2-Sanskar Society,
Rajkot:360003

Melting is one of the beginning prominent process of the casting . Due
care is taken while melting like charges preparation as per customer material
requirement.
Next, unit having 500 kg medium frequency induction furnace.
Induction melting is mainly used for critical quality material requirements in
chemical, physical and microstructure properties.

ROUGH MACHINE OUTER:

After melting, those melt liquid put into the one machine to give it
appropriate shape, that process is called centrifugal process.

27
FINAL MACHINING INNER:
After centrifugal process, liners are passed for further process i.e. it
gives high accuracy, taper, oval shape and surface finish to the liners after
reducing its temperature naturally

INNER CROSS HORNING::

Horning process on plateau honing machine to achieve required
quality parameters likes the surface finish Ra, Rt, Rmax, R3z, MR1, MR2, etc.

CHECKING:
Checking of each liners is done by the experts employed by the
company. Checking is done by men, so the customer not have to sacrifice in any
way.

OILING:
Oiling is done on the liners surface by Deeping it into the one
container having oil.

Cylinder liners and sleeves – cylinder liner (wet liners) and sleeves(dry
liners) of all type of engines, tractors, cars, trucks, compressor and generators and
also they manufacture and export as per customers required specifications ,
drawing or samples.

J.D.Products have facility to develop any type or size of fully finished and pre
honed cylinder liner and sleeve can be fitted directly in engines with no further
machining required before or after its fitment.

CYLINDER LINER (WET LINER)

The Cylinder of an internal consumption engine includes wet type upper

portion and a dry type lower portion. The upper (wet) portion and a dry type
lower portion. The upper (wet) portion and a dry type lower portions
strengthening the liner in the wet area and enabling the overall the overall
thickness of this portion of the liner to be smaller than would otherwise be
possible. Further the shapes involved by this construction provide a parallel
annular flow passages by which the cooling fluid is directed in parallel paths
around the upper portion of each of the cylinder from side of each cylinder to the
other side thereof.

32
CYLINDER SLEEVES (DRY LINER)

A Cylinder sleeves or a dry liner has a flange at the outer circumference of the
upper part of a liners barrel, and also has a grind relief groove formed below the
flange at the outer circumferential surface of the liner barrel. The upper surface
and the lower surface of the flange are coated with a coating film comprising a
heat resist resin containing a solid lubricant. The coating film may also be applied
