Summary

Information communication and Technology is extensional term for information technology that
stresses the role unified communications and the integration of telecommunications and
computers.

ICT has a great impact in our daily life in terms of reading online newspaper. It also connects us
to our families, relatives and friends by using the messenger, facebook, instagram and call
conference and video call. With ICT, different companies can make their business easier to
happen with the client, supplier and the distributor. That’s why in economy, it helps a lot in
development of millions of transactions of goods and other products in an easy and fast way. It
can improve also the quality of human life because it can be used as a learning and education
media in terms of mass communication media in promoting or campaigning important issues in
health and social matters. It provides knowledge and can help in gaining and accessing of
information.

Objectives:

1. To help the students in their studies and give information.

2. To make the transaction of goods/foods easy and fast.
3. To enhance the education industry.

Lesson learned
I learned that ICT has very important role in my life not just only in information but also in my
studies as a student. It gives me more knowledge on how can I help or apply the different
technologies in the society, in my family and also to the economy.
 I. Life cycle of Data

Summary

Data is the quantities, characters or symbols on which operations are performed by a computer
being stored and transmitted and later becomes information when it is viewed in post analysis.

Data life cycle management is considered as important part of ICT. It provides management in
the flow of the information, from the creation and when it store until the data is deleted.
Management of data now a day’s is very important due to the large volumes of data being
transmitted because of the different technologies created and updated. That’s why data life
cycle shall be considered to use before conducting a study or project so that the data you will
create will be useful.

Data life cycle provides an overview about the stages involved in management and preserving
of data. It is important to understand that data life cycle is can be applied in different area of
study like in school, works, and projects and especially in life. It is important that you always
have good plans in your life, because planning proves that you have a dream or you want to
achieve something in your life.

In ICT, when you conduct a study or project you must have plan about the data you want to
collect and the data related to the study you want to do and it must satisfy your methods. And
most important part you have to consider your budget before planning to prevent bankruptcy.
After planning you have to collect data for further more information about your study. In
collecting data you have to assure the quality of it and the strategies you will be using. In
describing data it is important to use Metadata, meaning a data that describes other data.
Metadata is important to use in discovering other information of data, interpreting data,
integration in terms of combining data from different sources and creating a unifying view of
data. Metadata can also be applied in analyzing the data using spreadsheets, workflows,
statistical computing. For Data management practices it is very useful because it improves the
quality of the data being produce.

Lesson learned in Data Life Cycle

As a student, I learned the concept of Data life cycle in terms of planning, collecting resourceful
data using different strategies and methods that can satisfy my needs in conducting a study,
and how to properly analyze a data, discovering it and integrate. It seems that data life cycle
can help my study a lot, because it gives me wide knowledge about to different kinds of data I
can gathered.

II. Application of Information in day to day life

Summary
Application of information in day to day life consists of the following:
1. Decision making
2. Policy making
3. Predictions
4. Planning, scheduling and monitoring
5. Drawbacks of manual methods of data manipulation
6. Availability of technologies related to information retrieval and sharing
7. Development of Mobile communication, mobile computing and cloud computing
Application of information in our daily life is not that easy, because we all know that now days
there are people creating fake news especially in social media.
Decision making is one of the important factors in applying the information in your life in terms
of identifying the issues or problems, formulate, select the best solutions, implement it then
evaluate or adjust the solutions for more reliable data.
Policy making is a decision making process for achieving your desired data. There are stages
concerning in policy making, first you must identify the issues then formulate the policy before
implementing it and will be asses later on.
Prediction is an assessment of what is going to happen in the future or you are predicting the
outcome of your study or project.
The importance of predictive analysis is to detect fraud issues especially in our generation
there are lots of fake news being uploaded on social media. It improves the marketing
campaign, and the operations of business companies and it reduce the risk of unsuccessful
study if you always predict what will happen. Prediction works on model results that can be
used in developing new different data based on the estimated significance from input variables.
In predictive models there are two types; the classification models that predict class
membership and the responds of the people to a particular issue. The second type is the
regression models that predict numbers and it includes an analysis of statistical processes for
estimating the relationship among variables.
Objectives:
1. To improved a person’s decisions in life.
2. To achieve the desired effect of the policy created.
3. To improved the prediction of a person in his everyday life.
4. To improved the operations of companies and produce an increase in revenues.
5. To maintain the data in the system and retrieved information.
Lesson learned:
I learned that applying information in everyday life, I must consider to make lots of decisions
that can help me. I also must consider that the quality of the data should be very informative
and in terms of policy making, the policy will e created must be formulated and evaluate well so
that the effect of it will help us to gain our success in life. And I also learned the different
importance of prediction, I can say that prediction is important because it can help me to know
what are the possible things will happen so that I can make a plan on how can I manage it
when time comes.
 III. Computer Data Processing
Summary
Data is a raw material to be processed by the computer. There are two types of data and these
are numeric and character data. Numeric data is in the form of numbers from 0 to 9 and it also
includes the decimal numbers. While in character data it is presented in string and graphic form
of data. String data is in the form of text or alphabetical letters from a to z, and graphic data is
can be form by maps, charts, shapes and pictures. In computer data processing it has different
stages of cycle; collection, preparation, input, processing, output and storage. Data processing
is used again and again until you achieved the data you want to have. It is continues process of
information that helps you to have a good quality of data. There are several data processing
operations such as; recording, verifying, duplicating, classifying, sorting, calculating,
summarizing and reporting, merging, storing, retrieving and feedback. And there are also
components involved in data processing and these are; CPU, computer memory (RAM and
ROM), data bus, ports, mother board, hard disk, output devices and input devices. Storing data
process can be in computer files because storing in computer files can stores information that
takes up less space and it is easy to update and modify. It is also provides faster access and
retrieval of data and enhance the data integrity and also assure the accuracy and completeness
of the data. There are some types of computer files; report file, back up file, reference file, sort
file and transaction of file.

3. It gives accuracy and completeness.
Lesson learned:
I learned the importance of the concept of data processing in terms of collecting a useful data
and the most important is the storing of data to prevent loss of your data gathered and to assure
the quality of the data. And I learned also the different types of data processing operations and
the components involved in data processing that can provide faster access and provide
accuracy and reliable data I can used in the future.
 IV. Application of ICT
Summary
Application of ICT in Education, enhance the learning skills of a person in his/her studies in
school. It gives the learners an access to rich its source of materials by using technological
learning tools related to ICT. Its advantages is to have a quick access to information, availability
of data, connecting geographically dispersed regions, catering to the individual differences and
wider range of communication media and it gives wider learning opportunities to the students.
ICT in Healthcare helps in giving information about telemedicine, customer service, hospital
information management system, in medical transcription, e-clinic, giving information about the
CT-scan, X-ray, MRI, EEG, ECG result of the patients.
ICT in agriculture helps the farmers by means of giving information of what kind of crop they can
plant in their farms. It gives the farmers precise information of farming, and the correct way of
giving their plants fertilizers.
ICT has a technology that can help the company in their business, it gives information about the
price and it gives an efficient, effective and promptly responds to the customers’ needs. ICT can
help the business in terms of marketing, browsing the products of the consumers need.
ICT in financial banking by means of online banking, if you don’t have time to go on the bank
you can have an application online. It includes also the capital marketing transactions, the
analysis of your financial plan, money transfer for your love ones that are far away from you.
ICT in Engineering has an important role in engineering works; it makes their works easier that
before. Because of the development of different software’s than can be use in engineering
works like autocad, geographic information system and GPS to determine the exact location of
a point or a person. Using robotics in manufacturing plants makes the harvesting and planting of
crops more easily and faster.
ICT in Transportation; using transportation application like GPS, online navigator, online maps,
booking reservations and traffic control system, it helps people by giving direction for his/her
destinations faster and easy.
ICT in Entertainment; provides an entertainment for the people like a kid playing computer
games, watching animations, watching movies online and listening music and editing picture
that make a person entertained.
ICT in Tourism Industry; it helps people to know where are the locations of the tourist spots can
go to and have vacations.
Objectives:
1. To develop the skills of person language and communication.
2. To equip students with the skills necessary to use technology to become independent
learners.
3. To help people in their digital works.

Lesson learned:
ICT plays key role in our life, especially as a student, applying the ICT in my studies can lessen
my work in doing assignments, activities and research projects by using educational software. In
engineering branch that recently came into existence with a mission to provide a wider
perspective on the nature and the application to the living world. I also learned that ICT can be
applied in different areas like agriculture that can help the farmers in their farming operations, in
transportation in giving directions and the location by using different software.

V. Benefits of ICT
Summary
There are lot of benefits caused by ICT in can be in social and economic. Social benefits include
employment generation, social networking, great awareness/advertizing media, job satisfaction,
ease of tasks and communication. The social impact of ICT has the power to transform the
society, it also enables financial inclusion and allows people to connect with millions people
nationwide. While in economic includes secure transactions, ease and availability, net banking,
global market, saves time and effort and it encourage customer engagement. The impact of ICT
in economy is significant. It empowers the people to share knowledge and advice, and set up an
online shop or website at a low cost. It is an important enable of change and ICT maturity is
closely linked to economic growth.
VI. Issues caused by ICT
Summary
Issues caused by ICT includes; social, environmental, ethical, legal, and privacy issues. Social
businesses are driven by a social caused, but seek financial stability in order to further their
impact. ICT plays a central role in the emergence and development of social businesses like net
banking, global market and the security of their transactions.
Environmental issues caused by ICT can be in the form of having a great consumption of
energy, soil, water and air pollution created by different technological machines, e-
wastes/techno trash and ergonomics.
Ethical issues caused by ICT can affect the people behaviors due to the unemployment,
involving on different crimes, lost of their professional ethics because of too much using of
social media or online games.
Legal issues caused by ICT, it is an issue wherein someone is involved in a web based activity
in a particular places that may not raise any legal issues but may be consider a criminal in other
places like cybercrimes, censorship and the hackings of accounts system.
Objectives:
1. Is to examine the effects of ICT in the society.
2. To adopt on how ICT can help in diminishing the problems it causes.
Lesson learned:
I learned that ICT has the power to transform or change the society, even if ICT help
peoples a lot in their works, businesses, study, family etc., it has also a consequences
by too much exploring its properties. Issues caused by ICT can change the life of a
person it can be good or later on become a crime. It is important to consider that ICT
plays key role in each Nations and it sustained the development of infrastructure or
software needed, but it can also caused danger in person’s life.
