www.turnitin.com. You will upload your paper and submit it electronically into your appropriate class
section. Your paper must be submitted by no later than 7 AM on the day it is due. (It can and should be
submitted before 7 AM. Please be advised that 7 AM is the last possible minute it can be submitted).
You will then bring an identical hard copy of your Night essay to class. It will have my grading rubric
stapled to it.
HOMEWORK DUE BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9: Create an account for yourself in your class section as
listed on turnitin.com. For example, if you have English class during period 1, then you will create an
account for yourself in English 10, Period 1. If you have English class during Period 6, then you will create
an account for yourself in English 10, Period 6.
Please be advised: Do not create two accounts for yourself in the class section that you should be enrolled in,
that is, your name must be listed only once. Creating ‘duplicate’ accounts can adversely affect other AM teachers.
Enrollment in turnitin.com is limited.
You will receive homework credit for having created a turnitin account on time and according to directions. (DO
NOT ENROLL IN THE WRONG CLASS SECTION).
The following hyperlink will explain the entire process of how to use turnitin, including how to create an account
and submit a paper. I typed out directions on how to create an account below. Please read them.

Step 1: Registration
1. The user Profile consists of an e-mail address, user password, optional personal information, and a set of user
preferences. Please use your school email address.
To register and create a user profile, you must have been provided with a class ID and enrollment password by your
instructor.
2. Go to the top of the page at turnitinUK.com (for UK users only) or turnitin.com (for users outside of the UK),
and select your language from the drop-down menu.
3. Click the Create Account link on the homepage, which will open the Create a User Profile page.
4. Click the Student link and fill in the required information in the new user profile form.
5. Once you have created your profile, click the I Agree button to successfully log into Turnitin.
Step 2: Student Homepage
The class you're enrolled in will show up in your Student Homepage. Click on the name of your class to open your
assignment inbox.
6. Copy the text of your paper from a word processing program and then paste it into the text box in the submission
form. If you submit your paper using the cut and paste method, you can skip the next step.
Note: If the assignment is set to accept any file type, students may upload any file type to the assignment.
After you confirm your submission, a digital receipt will be shown. A copy of the receipt will also be emailed to
you. To return the assignment inbox and view your submission, click the Return to assignment list button.
If you are enrolled in multiple Turnitin classes, you will need a class ID# and enrollment password for each class, in
order to add the classes to your Turnitin account. Once you are enrolled in each class, you do not need that class ID
and password again.
If you need to enroll in multiple Turnitin classes, you will need the class ID# and class password for each class,
and repeat the steps above. Once you are enrolled in each class, you will not need that class ID# and class
enrollment password again.
*If you do not remember your account password, you can navigate to
https://www.turnitin.com/password_reset1.asp to reset your password.
Please note: Each student profile must be assigned a unique e-mail address in the Turnitin system. Students who
have previously created a Turnitin profile will need to log in with the e-mail address and password that was
originally set for the user profile. Creating duplicate accounts with duplicate class enrollments can cause
issues. To fix these issues your instructor, possibly the school administrator, and the Turnitin Help Desk will need
to be involved.
