LEARN.
UNLEARN.
RELEARN.
“A little more than three years ago, I saw John Hardy’s TedX talk for the first time. From this video
I picked up a short, yet inspiring message; do not accept the status quo and take action to
change it.

When starting on the Sustainability Audit together with Matt Leggett in April 2016, I was
excited to gain a deeper understanding of what sustainability means in numbers, but, unaware
to what extent the audit would develop insights on the school’s operational behaviour. Linking
a campus, that welcomes more than 800 people every school day, with numbers around waste
management, transportation, and consumption behaviour is tremendously useful. Data and facts
help us to take informed decisions for our strategic goals like Green Procurement and the Carbon
Zero programme. To change the status quo is an electrifying process going to move from learn to
unlearn and relearn something new.

By seeing results of new processes that lead to a significant reduction in our footprint is beautiful
result of the work. But to see the educational opportunities it provides for students, staff, parents
and partners is much more comforting.”
