ABSTRACT
flue gases are measured using the gas analyzers which are very expensive and
prone to cold end corrosion. Presence of excess oxygen in the flue gas ensures
complete combustion. But on the other hand, it also denotes the wastage of
the fuel (coal) required to heat excess oxygen. The flame colour varies with
respect to the carbon content in the coal. Moisture content of the coal is also
very important as the calorific value of the coal directly depends on the
moisture content.
and F-measure are used as the performance criteria for comparing the
conventional and intelligent classification techniques. The values of the
performance measures are found to be in the optimal range for the various
intelligent techniques as compared with the conventional techniques. Finally
validation of all the algorithms are done with the flame images collected in a
similar fashion as discussed earlier during some other period (different month
and year) which illustrates or demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed
intelligent schemes.
