Using arithmetic mean and standard deviation, answer the following questions –
17. The following figures relate to the weights in lbs of five persons – 120, 140, 150, 160 and 180.
Calculate the variance and standard deviation of the weights.
Now, subtract 40 lbs from each of the weights above and then calculate and the variance and
standard deviation of the weights. Do you find any change in answers as compared to the
