Dr. Norsaadah Zakaria is currently The Head of Clothing Technology and Fashion at Institute of Business
Excellence, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She organized training and offer Professional APD clothing and
design technology programmes at the Centre in collaboration with a very established Telestia-AB School of
Fashion and Applied Arts, Greece. She has been appointed as the Regional Telestia Educational consultant by
the Telestia-AB, HQ to oversee the continuation of technology education in the apparel product development
specialization for East Asia and Middle East region. Her main interest of research includes traditional and 3D body
scanning anthropometric survey, modelling and data for clothing sizes, shape analysis based on anthropometric
data and sizing system optimization and validation using data mining. She is now pursuing the research on adult
anthropometric data for women using the Telestia-AB technology to develop pattern making for better fit and
size clothing.

DAY 1 ACTIVITY

0900-1030 What is Garment Making Development?


In this session, participants will be introduced to garment making
definition, its process, and scopes of product development, the
different skills needed to produce a quality garment with good
fit.

10.30-11.00 Coffee Break

1100- 1200 Introduction to Telestia-AB Technology


In the second session, participants will be introduced to the
revolutionary new technology to teach garment making skill.
The established system will introduce the pedagogic
methodology that is effective in teaching the fashion sketching,
pattern drafting, sewing and grading. The technology will also
introduce the CAD system and Fashion express AB. The system
consists of multimedia software, sophisticated tools and books.

1200-0100 Introduction to Body Size and Shape


Participants will be introduced to the concept of different size,
shape and proportion of human body. The crucial factors for
good comfortable clothing is to create the garment that fits the
size of the human.

0200-0330 Introduction to Fashion Drawing, Pattern Making, Sewing


and Grading Technology
Participants will be introduced to the key concept of apparel
product development by understanding the four main
ingredients to make up a good fit and quality garment.

0330-0530 What is Fashion Design Development Process?


In this session, participants will be introduced to fashion
development, the creation, idea and its inspiration process to
develop color, fabric and fashion mood board

DAY 2 ACTIVITY

0900-10.30 Introduction to Fashion Sketching


In this session, participants will be introduced to the main process
of fashion sketching using Telestia-AB trainer: drawing the figure
using AB tool. There are basically 8 heads figure drawing in
fashion design.

10.30-11.00 Coffee Break

11.00- 12.00 Fashion Drawing – Body Parts Practice


Participants will be guided to practice some of the different parts
of human body such as head, face, hair, fingers, hands using
multimedia software where they can see the process of drawing
step by step.

12.00-0100 Fashion Drawing – Garment Parts Practice


Participants will be practicing how to draw different parts of the
garments like skirts, pants, blouses, collars etc.

0100-0200 Lunch Break

0200-0400 Fashion Drawing: Garment Parts on Figure

Participants will now be able to see the transition process of


drawing all the different types of figure position, the different
body parts, and garment parts. In this session, the participants
will draw garments on different position of figure and understand
how to draw realistic fashion figure sketching

0400-0530 Technical Drawing

In this session, participants will practice 1 technical drawing


based on the sketches they have made using the figure grid
fashion tool. The real challenge for education and training
institution today is to teach the skill for fashion design and pattern
cutting efficiently and effectively.

0900-10.30 Measurement Techniques, Tools and Sizing


In this session, participants will be introduced the unique
technique of body measurement, sophisticate Telestia-AB tools
for simplified pattern drafting and sizing for better block fit

10.30-11.00 Coffee Break

11.00- 12.00 Flat Pattern Making and Techniques


In the second session, participants will be introduced to the
concept of flat pattern and key dimensions to draft master
blocks for upper and lower body

12.00-0100 Basic Block and Sleeve Block for Upper Body


Participants will be introduced to the correct way of taking body
measurements and use the key dimensions to draft upper simple
basic body block. They will practice case A, B and C.

0100-0200 Lunch Break

0200-0530 Simple Fitted Body Block for Upper Body

Participants will learn the principles of pattern drafting for upper


body and draft basic block to produce good fit pattern using
key dimensions based on case A, B, C. Then practice on
personal measurements

0600-0630 Certificate Ceremony Presentation to the Participants

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The course fee shall be inclusive of the venue, event, lodgings, course materials,
refreshments and lunches. All reservations for Option A (with accommodations) must be
made seven (7) working days prior to course commencement date.

2. Upon receiving complete registration form, TDJ Capital shall be issuing an invoice of which
full payment shall made within 7 working days from the date of issuance. TDJ Capital shall
have the right to refuse entry, participants which have not made full payment. Banking fees
will not be inclusive of the booking price which shall be sole responsibilities of the clients.

3. Substitution policy:
TDJ Capital allows for registered participant to be substituted with another participant
should the registered participant is unable to attend. The substituted participant shall not
be extra charged. The participant should notify TDJ Capital within 7 working days prior to
the selected course date.

4. Cancellation policy:
This shall serve as signing of contract of between TDJ Capital and the client and in case of
no show with no written notifications is being given to TDJ Capital 5 days prior to the
selected course date, the client shall be charge with 100% cancellation fee as TDJ Capital
does not provide refunds for cancellation. Client also agrees that by signing this contract,
TDJ Capital reserves the right to pursue amount due legally or through any of debt collection
agency. The client shall also be responsible for any legal and administrative costs incurred for
collection of the amount due. A credit voucher shall be issued for any of TDJ Capital future
course if written notifications is being received 5 days prior to the selected course date.

5. TDJ Capital will not be liable for any postponement, cancellation, amendment, substitution
of any course dates and/or venue or speakers. TDJ Capital shall also have the right to defer,
move or cancel the venue or date of the course without being liable for any penalty and/or
refunds though TDJ Capital shall ensure that best efforts shall be made to materialize the
course package.

6. In the event of force majeure, TDJ Capital shall not be liable or responsible of any damage or
loss which is out of their control including but not restricted to any adverse weather
conditions, fire, flood, war, civil unrest, strike and flight delays. Cost for attending the course
shall be at full liability or responsibility of the client which is inclusive of flights, transfers,
meals and etc.

7. The client also agrees and give consent for TDJ Capital to store and keep any particular
details herein contained for the use of future marketing activities by TDJ Capital, partners
and third-party agencies.

8. Reproduction and redistribution of any part or total content relating to this course shall be
prohibited without prior written consent from TDJ Capital.
