world premieres in Fort Smith. For approximately ten
years, Mr. Jeter was co-host of “Conductor’s Choice”
with P.J.Robowski on KUAF National Public Radio.
He is still a regular guest on media outlets throughout
the region.

and concerts, Mr. Jeter selects the musicians who
play in the orchestra, chooses all programming and

Our short Maundy Thursday service this year at 6 PM will consist of Scripture,
Handbell music Communion and the stripping and darkening of our sanctuary for
Good Friday. There will be foot washing in the garden at 5:30.

Good Friday Friday, April 19


Our Chancel Choir, along with soloists and a chamber ensemble, will be presenting
'Seven Last Words', a new work by Michael John Trotta, on Good Friday April 19th
at 6 PM. The 35 minute seven movement choral journey through the Passion of
Christ feels very much like a film score with all the emotions you would expect at
one the most important moments in our faith.

Innovative Programs
The Kool Cats presents exciting and educational performances/presentations to 4th grade
students at all Fort Smith Public Elementary Schools and area private schools each year. The
new ensemble led by Don Bailey features saxophone, electronic keyboard, string bass and
drums. School visits teach through performance the history of Jazz and much more.
Jazz in the schools via a symphony orchestra, very hip! Thank you, Dream Alliance!

JoltTM is an innovation and unique fully electronic string quartet bringing a new musical
experience to the greater Fort Smith region. JoltTM brings string quartet music to an entirely
different level combining a classical ensemble with elements from Rock, Pop, Jazz, Country
and Patriotic music. JoltTM performs at large venues from sporting events to community
celebrations. The ensemble performs standards from Jimi Hendrix to Coldplay
as well as original works all specially composed and arranged for the group.

EARQUAKE!™
EARQUAKE! ™- Educational Concert Series - now in its 15th season is a highly-regarded
community outreach program and long-term partnership with schools across the region in western
Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. This award-winning, live concert series reaches more than
4,000 sixth grade students each year, engaging them in a total symphony experience to
encourage music appreciation and future participation in the Arts. Free to the students,
this season’s EARQUAKE!™ concerts features 10th grader, Evelyn Jo Busby performing
a harp concerto, exciting music by the full orchestra, MTV-style video projection,
audience participation, and performances of a work by guest composer Patrick Conlon.

Symphony in the Schools
Symphony in the Schools is a two-week touring event that introduces students in more than 40 public and
private school groups across the Greater Fort Smith Region to the sights, sounds and excitement of the
orchestra with musical demonstrations by the Fort Smith Symphony String Quartet. This wonderful program
presents live chamber music to students in the classroom setting so that they may hear classical works, learn
about famous composers and explore the string instruments of the orchestra. It’s up-close and in person.
Through the Symphony in the Schools program, the musicians share the joys and benefits of music for young
people and encourage students’ participation in the Arts.
