Dear Mayor McComb and Members of the City Coun
This report contains the names of six (6) candidates for the position of City Manager of the City of
Corpus Christi. Of the candidates recruited, itis our professional opinion that these candidates are
among the best qualified for the position
‘The candidates are:
HARRY BLACK
JAMES DINNEEN
‘SIMON FARBROTHER
LEE FELOMAN
KemTH SELMAN
PETER ZANONI
‘The candidates are presented in alphabetical order. We have not ranked them because they are all well
Qualified for the position. At this point the chemistry between the City Council and the candidates should
be an important factor in the interview and selection process.
Several other people showed interest inthis position. We sought out and invited many to apply. We
have screened these people and have interviewed and evaluated them. We have found that the
candidates presented in this report meet the job requirements very closely.
‘The candidates are aware that the salary is open, and that present salary and qualifications may
influence the starting salary. We suggest that when you become seriously interested in a candidate, you
settle salary and related matters as quickly as possible. As you know, itis normal practice for the City to
ay actual relocation expenses and related items for executive level employees.
‘The candidates are aware that at Tuesday's meeting the Mayor and City Council will ikely choose
finalists from this group and will set a date and determine a process for interviews. After the interviews
the candidates will be instructed to submit their request for reimbursement for reasonable expenses
incurred for the interviews directly to the City. These expenses were not included in our contract with the
City

A.comfortable setting should be selected.
‘The setting should be formal, but open and friendly.
Each candidate should sit in the same chair placed for goad eye contact between the interviewers
and candidate.
To be fair, the same program and the same type of questions should be asked of each candidate.
We further suggest that you try to arrive at a decision as soon after the interview as possible, as delay
may work to the disadvantage of both parties.
‘As requested, we plan to attend candidate interviews. Finally, we want to thank you for the opportunity to
‘work with you on this very important assignment. We will continue to work for you until the process is
‘complete.
Cordially yours,
