Dear Sir/Madam,
When I first heard about the African Masters of Machine Intelligence (AMMI) at AIMS, the first thing that
catches me is the opportunity that gives for Africans to develop themselves in this field to make Africa
future better, not only ours.
At the beginning of my studies (in High School), I always maintained a high level in mathematics, physics,
and biology, I was always interested in these mathematics and computer sciences, these courses put into
perspective the importance and relevance of Computer Science and Engineering and the application of its
fundamentals to the problems faced by the real world. Thanks to that, I registered in manufacturing
engineering Department to prepare my Bachelor degree at the University of Tlemcen.
During these years, I learned to explore manufacturing processes more deeply, I came across numerous
insightful articles about advanced manufacturing system, with integrating of machine intelligent where it
shows their potential power for the companies in term of predicting an estimation of costs, time, benefits…
etc. Also, I had the chance to learn more about artificial intelligent (AI) and machine learning (ML), through
some online courses, which helped to open my eyes about the potential power of AI and ML, and how ML
gives machines innate abilities to 'learn'.
While preparing my Masters in engineering systems (currently enrolled in 1st year masters), I had weekly
courses where I came across some concepts in technology such as Markov Chain Monte Carlo,
Stochastic Gradient Descent, Computer-aided design (CAD), metaheuristics, advanced optimization
theory, and arena Rockwell simulation. At the same time, I have continued to explore other areas of
research of AI. Paving my way to create a startup of AI in computer vision with the best potential team.
Our project aims to solve problems for Companies of Public Transportation, to increase the privacy of bus
owners and to enhance passengers loyalty. This experience confirmed my research interest in computer
sciences.
Being eager to discover more about technology and the more I read about it, the more it piqued my
interest, I like to keep myself abreast of the latest news like quantum physics and quantum machines,
which it is leading to a new vision of computer sciences. I think it is a radical innovation that will solve
problems that could not be solved before.Aiming to be at the forefront of Quantum Machine Learning
(QML), I deem AMMI will be critical for my career goals. I intend to gain deeper insight into ML and QML
as well as accumulate versatile experience across disciplines. Though the choice of academia or industry
can only be made after I have acquired a better understanding of both fields, one thing is for sure: I will
continue with my research career upon graduation.

Equipped with all the qualifications needed for the rigorous AMMI, I genuinely hope to inherit the spirit of
AMMI and shape the future of technology.
Yours sincerely,
souhaib soltani
