The Cellbeam software package has been written by the SCI on behalf of Kloeckner Metals UK | Westok (KMUK-W), and is
only valid for the analysis, design and manufacture of a Westok Cellbeam® formed from rolled sections. The methodologies
employed in the analysis and design, under ambient or fire condition, cannot be used to justify any other structural solution.
KMUK-W is the world-wide patent holder for the Westok Cellbeam®, and the Westok Cellbeam® must be manufactured by
KMUK-W, or one of its licenced manufacturers. The Ribbon Cut profiling process is protected by world-wide patents. Care
has been taken to ensure that the information herein is accurate, but neither KMUK-W nor The Steel Construction Institute,
accept responsibility for errors due to misinterpretation of the input data or of output information by the user, or any loss or
damage arising from or related to the use of the software. ©ASD Westok Ltd.
It is essential that all of the above is on the drawings for tender and construction

Guidance on Application:
The data above should be supplied to the intumescent paint manufacturer. The manufacturer will determine the required thickness of
protection material, based on product-specific testing on Cellular beams. Please see the help file for further details.
Deck voids:
Following the guidance published for composite beams by ASFP in 'Fire Protection for Structural Steelwork in Buildings', for periods of
fire resistance in excess of 90 minutes, the voids between trapezoidal steel decks and the top flange of the beam must be filled.
The voids between re-entrant decks and the top flange of the beam do not need to be filled regardless of the period of fire resistance
being considered.

NOTE: Partial or full infills at the beam ends may be required. For example:
- Partial cells are generated when the distance to the centre of the first / last cell > [web-post width + diameter/2]. These infills are indicated above with hatched shading and may be eliminated when the
actual beam length is detailed;
- When the first/last web-post width is less than half of a standard web-post width;
- When the beam ends are detailed with large notches;
Talk to Kloeckner Westok for guidance on connection design and minimising infills. Minor adjustment of the cell diameter and spacing data will assist to reduce or eliminate infills entirely.
Cellbeam® must be manufactured by Kloeckner Metals UK Westok, or one of its licenced manufacturers.
