1. Introduction

International standards such as ISO 17043 define proficiency test as determining the performance of a
laboratory testing by means of interlaboratory comparisons.

This program sets out the general criteria for the implementation of technical proficiency test mode for
interlaboratory comparisons.
The purpose of the program is to evaluate the performance of the participating laboratories, on the basis of
objective evidence through the results they produce and report to ILT – Interlaboratory Test as proficiency
testing provider.

The participation in this proficiency test is open to accredited and not accredited laboratories worldwide.

2. Objective
The objective of the ILT-U-1074 is compression resistance determination in concrete.

3. Organization
Proficiency testing provider: ILT - Interlaboratory Test S.A.
Coordinator ILT-U-1074 program: Ing. Tulio A. Palacios
Statistical Consulting: Ing. Jorge Rodriguez
Technical Consulting: Ing. Tulio A. Palacios

3.1 Outsourced Activities

Statistical advice was subcontracted to Eduardo Rodriguez.

4. Procedure

4.1. Start and finish dates

Start date: March 2019. (When you need)

Finish date (Estimated): 30 days after receipt the results by participants.

4.2. Selection of samples

ILT Interlaboratory Test S.A. has selected two cylindrical concrete sample. The participants received the
samples on March 2019 (estimated).

4.3 Shipping the samples and the results form
ILT – INTERLABORATORY TEST provides the samples and the participants also receive a form to be completed
with the results of each test. This form should be sent for evaluation by e-mail to:
test@ptinterlaboratory.com
The deadline to send the test results is 20 days from the date of receipt the sample.
Each participant laboratory receives, as well, an instructive and a numeric code in order to keep anonymous
for confidential reasons.

4.3.1 Loss or breakage of test items

In case of loss or breakage of test items, ILT send a new sample from the same batch (where possible)

4.4 Conducting the testing

The test must be conducted under normal routine conditions and the technical responsible must complete
the results form.

4.5 Parameters to be measured

PARAMETER SAMPLE STANDARD

compression resistance concrete ASTM C39

4.6 Potential sources of error

The participant must ensure that the equipment used in conditions that operators are trained and qualified
to avoid or minimize potential sources of error.

4.7 Statistical treatment of the results

The results obtained by the participating laboratory must be evaluated as being consistent or inconsistent
with respect to the reference values.

4.8 Uncertainty of the assigned values

The uncertainty will be provided by the accredited laboratory reference (if possible).

4.9 Assigned values and statistical summaries for methods / testing procedures used by each group of
participants (if different groups of participants use different methods).
Being a bilateral program, both the participant and the reference used the same method. (see section 4.8 -
O ISO 17043 standard)

4.10 Homogeneity and stability

The stability of the samples is ensured by the type of material which is stable through the realization of the
test. The samples are homogeneous with each other, for belonging to the same batch of manufacture

4.11 Continuous test programs

ILT states that this program is not continuous.

5. Confidentiality
To ensure that the results of the participant are known only by that laboratory, ILT will be assigned a code
number along with the test samples and the return of results, in order to respect the confidentiality of data
as required by our procedure management system. ILT states that eliminate fitness program participants
who have made collusion or falsify the results. In case one suspects ILT participants have made collusion or
falsify the results, will contact them to request the relevant explanations. ILT also agree not previously
broadcast the identity of the participants.

6. Final Report
The result of this program will be detailed in a report to be sent to each of the participating laboratories,
respecting the confidentiality procedures.
The final report and certificate of participation will be sent to participants by email
6.1 Advice on the interpretation of the statistical analysis
Not applicable because the statistical analysis has one interpretation
6.2 Comments or recommendations based on the results of proficiency testing round
Not applicable because ILT makes no comments or recommendations unless exceptions
6.3 Comments proficiency testing provider and technical advisers on the performance of the participants
Comments will be defined under "conclusions" of the report.
The coordinator and the technical expert expressed that the result is satisfactory / unsatisfactory
accordingly.

The shipping costs are included (all shipping cost set by ILT do not include local import charges or taxes which
will be covered by the participant).
Transfer costs must be paid by the laboratory receiving this service.

paid whiting the terms stated on the invoice.
If for some reason, a participant withdraws from participating in the program once sent the samples, must
pay the shipping cost more U$D 100.
