Makassar through Remedial Teaching Author : Semuel Petrus (2009) Topic : Remedial Teaching is one of the solutions of writing problem. Content : English as a foreign language can be studied from four main basic language skills namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Writing is one of the language skills which have great role in learning particularly English. Getting appropriate meaning from a text, it depends on the arrangement or composition of the writing. The true of the structure of writing is the most important part that must be considered to arrange the text. It is assumed that writing is the most difficult part of English to be studied by students. Teacher as an educator are expected to be able to choose a new teaching strategy as a solution for this problem. One of the ways that expected to improve the ability of the students to write is giving remedial teaching for students. Remedial teaching is given based on the weaknesses of the students are found in the previous text (diagnostic test). The writer interested to do research related to the use remedial teaching in order to improve the students ability in writing. The writer is interested to be conducting a research under title “Improving the Writing Ability of the Students of SMA Frater Makassar through Remedial Teaching”.
