Managing Corrosion Issues
for Chemical Plants

The first seminar will give detailed introduction of the
essence of corrosion of metallic materials in chemical
plants followed by several actual case studies. Partici-
pants of this course are supposed to be the non-special-
ists of corrosion but responsible for design and mainte-
nance of chemical plants, and also academic members
relating to corrosion. The speaker of this class is an
experienced materials specialist of a major Japanese
chemical company with an outstanding career spanning
more than 30 years; he has often provided trainings to
his company’s engineers and many professional societ-
ies in Japan.

Duplex Stainless Steel

The second seminar will feature more advanced topics
about the different families of duplex stainless steels,
although it will include a short Duplex 101 introduc-
tion. More advanced topics will include how to specify
and ensure quality in standard duplex and superduplex
wrought materials and in cast alloys, welding of duplex
alloys, and other topics of particular interest to the
petrochemical and chemical industry. Both new and ex-
perienced specifiers and users of duplex stainless steel
will find practical information in this unique seminar.
