Element of analysis added to production

From my research I have taken in a lot of element that I think will be very
useful to include into my production.

In my production I am going to include a technique to have cinematic

camera work. This element is when the camera is constantly recording and it
doesn’t keep cutting to different angles. For this the camera will be moving
around moving to different objects without cutting. This will make it look nicer
when the audience are watching. I will also be adding the technique where
the camera will be towards an object e.g. a TV and it will zoom on very close
and then it will go back out with the same program on but in a different
setting. I will use this when I want to switch from the ex-boyfriend being alone
and sad and then to the ex-girlfriend with her new boy-friend. This will show
what both of the characters are doing at the exact same time and how they
are coping with the situation. I think this will be very effective as it will help the
audience understand what is happening more instead of just cutting. This
technique makes it more interesting to watch as well.

Another technique that I am going to use is the different use of high-key and
low-key lighting. For my production I really want to use different lighting to
emphasis how each character feels so that it makes it very clear to the
audience how they feel. I am going to use low-key lighting when the boy
finds out she has been cheating on him and then when he is isolating himself.
However, when he starts to forget out his ex I will gradually change it to high-
key lighting whereas for the girl it will start off high-key and then gradually go
to low-key as she starts to regret what she has done.

Another technique is that I want to use is to add “chapters” into my

production. For this I will have different chapters to show the different stages
the boy is going through to finally get over his ex. This will help the audience
understand more of what is happening and why he is acting the way he is. I
want to the chapters to have different emotions. An example would be
“Chapter 1: Anger”

Another technique that I am going to use is to have Foley sounds in my short

film. I will add of the sounds that you would actually hear, as if you were
actually there. This will help my production be more realistic and make the
audience get more of a feel. For example, I am going to have Foley sounds
such as footsteps, doors shutting and closing and any other sounds you
would normally hear.

Another technique that I am going to use is to have the music match the
feelings of the characters. I want to do this so it changes the mood of the
audience. So for the boy I want the audience to feel sorry for him. When
everything comes out about her cheating I want to have dramatic music to
hint to the audience that something bad is about to happen. This will help
build tension and make the audience more engaged as they want to find
out what is about to happen.
