A. SUMMARY OF PROJECT
1. Nature of Project
The business of private education is one of the leading industry in the Philippines today.
With a gross income of 155,194,365 Philippine Pesos in 2015, the business of education becomes one
of the leading industry. With over 64 non-sectarian institutions and 254 non-sectarian institutions in
National Capital Region, it become one of the most number of private schools in the Philippines. This,
data suggest that National Capital Region has the biggest market in terms of education business which
develops competencies among these schools. The competencies develop in terms of education business
in Manila will create a more diverse learning opportunity which is beneficial for the students in terms of
gained and diverse knowledge.
As the population increases, the preschool education also steadily boomed and has
become a profitable venture in the Philippines. The parents’ awareness for the need to enroll their
children in the centers has in fact been a reason for most of them to save money for the purpose. A
daycare facility, playschool or preschool is very important, and each family will have different
considerations. Child-care services range from small homebased operations to large commercial centers
and can be started with an investment of as little as a few hundred Pesos.
Creating a daycare center could be successful by establishing these factors. These factors
includes the type of daycare center which covers whether the operation will be from a residential or
commercial setup. Licensing is also factors which creates legal basis for your operation and the agencies
involved for the accreditation. It also requires the trainings and certifications which will be needed for
hiring the employees of the proposed daycare center. These factors are primarily considered in planning
and establishing a daycare center.
Prime candidates who need full-time child care are parents with infants to 5-year-olds. Parents
with children over 5 are good prospects for after-school care programs. The market segments most likely
to use child-care services are dual-income families and single-parent households in most income
brackets. A number of government programs help low-income families pay for child care so the adults
can stay in the work force.
Opening a daycare center on a commercial site, it will be beneficial for the business to locate
the facility close to the target market. Some parents may prefer a center close to home; others may
choose a center close to their workplace. In the latter case, parents get to enjoy more time with their
children during their morning and evening commutes, as well as the opportunity to spend time with them
during the course of the day, perhaps for lunch or special programs.
The factors that could affect the locations could affect the marketing of the daycare center. A
daycare center that is closed to a neighborhood or a community will help it close to many families. Others
considerations could be sites near shopping malls where families pass by during a day to day basis.
Sites near offices and parks could also be more feasible for the proposed development. Parents who are
working will be able to secure their child even they are working and fetch them after work.
