SPACE LAW
The Space treaties came into existence around 50 years ago, a time when India
merely remained a neophyte in space explorations. Since then, there has been a
tremendous development worldwide, especially in India, in the arena of space and
allied technology. Also, the number of space-faring nations has escalated to an
unprecedented level, creating consciousness among the world nations regarding the
inevitability of space industry in their aspirations. Such advancement in technology
coupled with rapid increase in the number of players has made the sector more open
to commercialization and privatization, thereby turning it highly competitive. And
hence with this purpose, the Indian Society of International Law proposes to conduct
a symposium on the topic “India’s Recent Approach to International Law in Outer
Space Regime: Exploring Possible Strategies and Solutions” in order to gather
opinion of the experts in the issue, generate awareness among the public and to
guide the nation to develop coherent approach among policy makers, legal officers
and academician.
