Please Explain: At times severe weather may impact business operations which can account for
changes in hours and schedule. Participants will still work an average of at least
32 hours per week over the course of their programs.

Fantasy Island does not begin full-time operations until June 14. Between a
participant's start date until June 14, participants will primarily be working in Park
Services and help get the park ready for the season. After June 14, participants
will work full-time hours in their assigned position.

Fantasy Island only operates on the weekends (Friday to Sunday) after Labor Day
(September 2, 2019). Participants should not expect full time hours after Labor
Day. Participants can stay until Sept 30 to work weekend hours and to help get the
park ready for post season, but they should not expect to receive 32 hours after
Labor Day.

Job Type: Ride Operator
Job Description: Ride Operators are responsible for operating rides for adults and children, reading and speaking
ride safety instructions, and enforcing height requirements.

Duties may include:


-Courteous guest relations and customer service. Operators maintain all safety standards and
provide an enjoyable experience for each guest throughout the day.
-Ride Operators operate various amusement rides and attractions while ensuring that all
appropriate park policies and rider requirements are followed. Participants should have the ability
to maintain constant attention and focus.
-Execute emergency procedures, to include crowd control, as necessary.
-Communicate via public address systems, radios, and telephones.
-Maintain the Fantasy Island cleanliness standard for area of responsibility.

Working in Rides is all about providing the guests with a safe and enjoyable experience while
visiting the park. No experience necessary as on-site training is provided. Participants must be
able to lift and carry 30 pounds and must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in
all types of extreme weather.

Fantasy Island does not begin full-time operations until June 14. Between a participant's start date
until June 14, participants will primarily be working in Park Services and help get the park ready for
the season. After June 14, participants will work full-time hours in their assigned position. See

A neat, clean and presentable appearance is required for the work environment. Hair must be clean and styled.
Personal cleanliness is very important. Participants must maintain good hygiene and prevent unpleasant breath
and body odor. Clothing should be clean, pressed, and properly fitted. Tattoos must be covered and no excessive
piercings or unnatural hair coloring is allowed. Participants are ambassadors of their home country and should
make every effort to represent their country well.

Flexibility with schedule required. Friends may not be able to work the same shifts or have the same days off.
Second jobs are permitted. However, participants are expected to maintain their primary schedule requirements.

Brief description of housing: Participants will be sharing two or three-bedroom rental houses and
duplexes. Each room will have one set of bunk beds. Each participant
will have their own bed. Rooms are divided by gender. Each until has a
full kitchen, table and chairs, closet, dresser, and one to two bathrooms.
Up to 6 participants will share a bathroom. WiFi, linens, bedding, and
towels are included. Coin-operated laundry is available onsite.
Participants should supply their own cookware. Participants who
terminate employment will be required to vacate the housing within 48
hours.

Work site is easily accessible from the housing through biking or public
transportation. Participants can walk or bike 1.6 miles to the bus stop, or
bike the entire 2.5-3 mile route. The landlord also will provide shuttle
service to the park 2-3 times per day at no additional cost.

Participants are recommended to arrive to the Buffalo International Airport (BUF). Participants should
then take a local shuttle or taxi directly to the prearranged housing and settle in. Participants should
contact the employer upon arrival to the housing and provide the employer with notice of arrival plans
as soon as travel arrangements are secured. Arrivals plans must be sent to the employer
(mtyson@fantasyislandny.com) at least two weeks before arrival. Transportation costs will vary
depending on the method used. Participants can review the recommended resources available at the

Local Shuttle:
Participants travelling in groups can book a private shuttle in advance to travel to the housing.
Shuttles will pick participants up from the airport directly. The cost of these shuttles will depend on

Taxi:
Taxis are readily available outside the airport terminal baggage claim. A taxi fare from the airport to
the housing will cost approximately $60 per car. Participants can take a taxi directly to their housing.

Public Transportation:
It will be difficult for participants to use public transportation to get to the housing, as the closest bus
station is about one mile from the housing. The employer recommends booking a shuttle or taxi so
that participants do not need to walk this far with their luggage.

The town of Grand Island is at Erie County's
northwestern corner, on the western edge of New York
state and on the Canada±U.S. border. It is northwest of
Buffalo.

Grand Island is the largest of the islands dotting the


Niagara River between Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Two
spectacular high-arching bridges link it to the mainland.
The area is a popular tourist destination due to the
proximity of Niagara Falls. The population of Grand
Island is about 21,000. Participants should note that
while Grand Island is located in the state of New York, it
is a 7 hour drive from New York City.

participants will primarily be working in Park Services and help get the park ready for the season. After June 14,
participants will work full-time hours in their assigned position. Park Services employees are responsible for the
cleanliness and overall appearance of the park and all of its facilities. This includes cleaning the restroom facilities
(including cleaning toilets) and common areas, trash collection, some park grounds keeping, painting of park
structures, and light maintenance. Grounds keeping will include weed whacking and hedge trimming prior to the park
opening but will account for less than 30% of a participant's daily duties. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals
and will be provided personal protective equipment.

SAJO within a two-week timeframe will result in shortening the participant¶s program sponsorship. If Greenheart
Exchange rejects SAJO, the participant has 1 business day to resubmit SAJO in accordance with instructions
