Common Core References
This resource is aligned to CCSS for 2nd and 3rd grade students. However, the ease-of-use and
content of this resource also serves 4th grade students who need more practice with the different
forms of nouns. Please see FAQ below for more details.

Standard
CCSS Description
L.2.1b Form and use frequently occurring irregular plural nouns.

L.3.1a Explain the function of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives,

and adverbs in general and their functions in particular
sentences.

F.A.Q
• Why does this resource list fourth grade when it has 2nd & 3rd
grade standards?
This resource can be used to reinforce skills that were not mastered in
third grade with parts of speech. It provides intervention and enrichment
for those students who need the extra practice, while also giving
everyone else opportunities to remain comfortable using those skills.

• Can all my students use this resource or is it only for intervention?

Absolutely, ALL your students will benefit from having extra practice
identifying, spelling, and forming nouns! Since this resource can be used
easily with ANY book, you as the teacher can differentiate it to meet the
needs of all your learners.

• Can I use this resource throughout the school year or is it

seasonal?
• All of my Look-in-a-Book resources are evergreen, and can be used all
year long. The NO-PREP set up makes it perfect to use for sub lesson
plans, work for early finishers, as a center rotation, and more.
