Education. In this country that belongs to the third world countries, having
high rate of unemployment and increasing percentage of undergraduates, our
government should focus and budget more funds on the educational sector. The
increasing number of undergraduates due to financial problems is one of the many
reasons why education should have the highest percentage of budget. The allotted
fund for education could be used for scholarships and granting free tuitions and
allowances for students who really want to pursue their studies but doesn’t have
money to support them. Also, there are a lot more than financial problems that some
students encounter that could hinder or affect their studies such as lack of facilities,
equipment, classrooms and teachers. The K-12 program not only created future
advantages but also created problems and issues, issues concerns lack of facilities
and classrooms that students need to have a better way of learning. The
insufficiency of number teachers teaching the students is one of the biggest problem
of the education sector so we must hire more teachers to teach the future leaders
and workers of our country.
Health. Now compared to education, the value of the health sector has always
been acknowledged. This is fairly so since it truly is of importance. Despite this
however, it still cannot be denied that the health sector needs more than what it
already has. There are a lot of complaints regarding lack of support of the
government when it comes to health problems. Our public hospitals remarkably lack
proper materials, and the ability to accommodate all who needs treatment. A lot of
people complain about this issue but still, the government hasn’t done any action yet
because of the budgeting issues. This largely affects a huge percent of our
population because almost every day 3 out of 5 acquires illness or disease that
could either needs check-up or treatment but our government hospitals can’t afford
to offer treatments to all because of lack of facilities, staff, equipment and space.
There also lives matters such as unequal workers (doctors, nurses, and staff),
limited health care, and a problematic referral system. Another problem of our
country when it comes to health care is that, fixers are all over the place and the
government should do actions about it. Issues regarding the funds, support, services
and privileges being received by the PhilHealth members are also slowly making
noise. So the government should really look to the fact that health sector should be
one of the sectors that needs greater amount of fund because as the saying goes, “
health is wealth”, nothing is more important than our health and safety because work
won’t be done if workers are sick or doesn’t feel well.
Agriculture. Recently, it cannot be denied that agriculture in the Philippines is
dying - lands suitable for farming are decreasing in number as industrial buildings
are blooming, and the farmers are getting old. Agriculture plays such a large role in
our economy yet little sees its value and very little want to be part of the industry.
Our farmers lack not only funds, but also proper infrastructure, tools and training.
They also require protection against the middle classes that take advantage of them.
Our agricultural sector secures the food that is distributed around the country. We
need them three times a day for every day in our life; it is necessary that we value
their hard work and acknowledge their importance. The continuous natural disaster
that happens every year creates negative impact in our economy especially on the
agriculture sector because every time typhoons hit our country, rice fields, farms and
agricultural related businesses are the areas that is mostly being affected. Farmers
need support and funding in order for them to produce greater amount of products
that could be exported or traded to other countries. If only our country could provide
adequate support to the agricultural sector, we wouldn’t need to import some
essential agricultural products from other countries because some of the products
we import could actually be produced by our local farmers. We should think critically
regarding in the funds budgeted on every sectors because some sectors that
receive high amount of funds actually doesn’t need uch.
