(Reflection for: How to prepare for an automated future by Claire Cain Miller)

One of the main highlights in the twentieth century was the invention of robot. The main
purpose of the robot is to ease the life and also to do the task that is dangerous for people.
According to the article of Miller 2017, the major setback of the invention of robot is it can displace
people’s jobs easily. The solution about this problem is to improve the quality of education and to
educate more the people. Based on the survey of Pew Research Center and Elon University, people
still need to learn more skills and the school must teach the traits that machine cannot replicate.
On the other hand, we do not have the capability to develop easily the educational tools to cope up
with the gap between the fast rising technologies. All in all, the main purpose of the article is to
show the importance of education, having a college degree, and the improvement of our own
abilities like compassion, empathy, and vulnerability to retain to us the supremacy. Humans must
not get tired of learning and adapting their selves with the new things to avoid the empowerment
of automation.

Right now, for just one click we can access the information that we want. It seems like the
technology gives so much comfort in our life and we do not know how far it can go. As we accept
the fact that automation invades us, we also need to know the harm it can give to us. Most of the
professionals expect that for the next decades, robots will empower the humanity. The counter
attacks to this problem are:

Develop our own abilities instead of relying on technology. We are the one who made the
existing of robots possible, so we are also the one who needs to solve this problem.

Instead of creating new things, we must discover our own skills and talent in order to give
something helpful in our society.

We the humans must not abused or overused technology. Knowing our limitation is important
to prevent the existence of different issues. We must remember that technology is not the
solution in all of our problem.

Contentment is also the key to avoid the superiority of automation. If we can do the activities
without the use of technology, then do not invent things that will do that activities.
Our ability to think, to feel, to be heard, and to have emotions must be given an importance. We
must not let other people to invent a robot that has our special characteristics and abilities.

Lastly, automation must be one of the aspects to improve human empowerment. It should be used
to make us more valuable. Automation should enable human to perform higher valuable task, more
of critical thinking skills, and create different opportunities.

The solutions I listed above is only my personal assumptions in order for us not to depend our
whole life in technology. Some of us can think of a hundred of ways to retain to us the superiority.
We must have the advocacy to give importance in human empowerment and let the automation be
one of the aspects to strengthen the humanity. Rely on your abilities instead of relying all the things
with the help of technology.
