Assessment:
Summary
What went well?
• The students seemed to recall more because of the math stories.
• Drawing the math problems out on the whiteboard worked well.
• The reminder of the rules seemed to work well.
• I loved your discovery approach - (can you show it? Very challenging for these kids but don’t
give up this approach)
• Getting Miles to help you seemed like a good idea.
• The number line was a great idea but quite a bit of time to organize.
• Good patience - waiting till students have settled down.
• Nice progressions - doubling the jumps.
• The idea of picking names at random worked to get other students involved in participating.
• Modelling the different questions types worked well.
• Circulating and checking their work was a great formative assessment approach.
