Dear Friend,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Spring is
here! And I can't help but think of the verses of Scripture in the Song of
Solomon that says, "My Beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love,
my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past..." Looking around we
see the signs of new life! The weather is warming up a little and buds are
pushing their way through the barren ground. If you listen closely, not only will
you hear the sound of birds, but you can almost hear the voice of the Lord
speaking to our hearts to rise up and come away to Him. The old dead ways are
past and new life is springing forth! Doubts and fears are being set aside for the
hope of new life! It is only through the new life that is springing forth that some
of the old dried leaves are pushed off the branches of the trees. So it is spiritually
in our lives. The new life Jesus Christ offers us pushes the old dried up ways
from our past and room is made for the newness of life with the hope and
promise of summer fruit!
Sometimes we think we have to stay trapped in past experiences. Too many
people believe for the worse because they have only experienced bad things. But
this does not have to be true. I have good news for you: today is going to be a
brighter day! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is full of hope. My wife always says to
send hope to people, otherwise life is unbearable. That is what the Gospel of
Christ offers every man, woman, boy, and girl: hope. When you have tasted that
the Lord is gracious, and His message brings hope to you, you have a whole new
outlook in life. Life is worth the living! Bad things may come your way but hope
says, "...lo, the winter is past..." Testings come, but God's Word says, "Which
hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast..." We might
tend to be hesitant to step out by faith, but we keep our eyes on Jesus, who told
us, "Come unto Me, all ye..." Your world may be tossed upside down, but His
Word says that even though the things that are man-made might be removed,
those things which cannot be shaken might remain. What things? The things that
are true; the things that are honest; the things that are just; the things that are
pure and righteous; things that are lovely and of a good report; virtuous things
and praise worthy things. No matter what example we see from people in the
world today, these things will remain, for these things are a part of the character
of God, who lives forever more!
Can I trust God in my present situation? What if I am stressed out and He
seems a million miles away? I read that He is like a great potter. Many times He
makes us brand new because the way we think or the things we do or the way
things are do not always work out right. So I have to learn to trust that He will
make all things new, just as the Bible teaches us. You are not a failure just
because something goes wrong. Maybe you have done everything right and it
still comes out wrong. Fear not: the Great Potter has you in His masterful hands.
He is not finished with any of us! He said these words through the prophet
Isaiah: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy
God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with
the right hand of My righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10). He said these words to
whoever will embrace them and believe them as their own. He is with you! He
has said He would never leave you or forsake you. You can cast every care on
Him, for He cares for you! Let me encourage you today. Place your trust and
hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. He knows what is best, and the Bible says, "And
we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
I invite you to our church services. We meet on Sunday at 10 am and 7 pm,
and Wednesday at 7:30 pm. May God bless you more abundantly!
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
