Administrator Comments:
Katelynne Ringuette started her PSIII Intern Teaching round t FP Walshe School in January, 2019. She taught Health 6, Math
20-4 and worked closely with our Learning Support Teacher, taking on many of the tasks in this area. Katelynne involved
herself in the life of the school by participating in middle school student leadership and has performed admirably in this role.
During her time at FP Walshe School, Katelynne has proved herself to be a highly capable teacher who is energetic, flexible,
organized and has a natural rapport with students.

When Katelynne came to FP Walshe for her initial meeting, we discussed her assignment and the possibility of developing a
new program for a high needs student as well as teaching some math. These requests would be clearly outside of her training
and expertise. Her attitude was truly outstanding and displayed, not only a high degree of professionalism but an uncommonly
flexible and adaptable willingness to take on the challenge. This gave me a strong confidence in Katelynne from the very
beginning and the rest of her teaching round has only enhanced that confidence.

I had the opportunity to formally observe Katelynne's classroom teaching on two occasions. The first thing that struck me, was
that she was comfortable and confident, displaying a natural classroom presence. Her rapport with students is excellent. She
connects with her students with ease yet is very professional, especially for a young teacher. She is caring and kind and
students like her but they also respect her as the authority in the classroom.

Katelynne's teaching abilities are above average for a PSIII Intern Teacher. She is a very effective classroom teacher due to
her rapport with students, her organization skills and her natural sense of how and when to act in the classroom. Students
sense that Katelynne likes them and this builds an immediate bridge of trust. She builds upon this trust by displaying a high
degree of competence in what she teaches. Given that one of the subjects she taught was high school math - outside of her
training and experience - this is commendable. In both Math 20-4 and grade 6 Health, Katelynne showed that she had
mastered the curriculum and could teach it effectively. Her lessons are well sequenced, nicely paced and student focused.
Her planning is exemplary. I am particularly impressed with her personal knowledge of students that is apparent in her
planning documents. All in all, Katelynne is a highly effective classroom teacher.

Katelynne's work in the area of Learning Support has been excellent. She developed an academic program for a high needs
student in grade 6 that has been put into place and is working very well. Katelynne has proven to be a valuable member of our
Learning Support Team. She has regularly attended LST meetings and I am impressed with her knowledge of the needs of
our students and in her ideas on how to meet them. Given the number and complexity of these needs, Katelynne is to be
further commended for her work in this area. Her views and opinions are valued and she has always followed through when
committing to act. It is my belief that Katelynne posses the qualities of an excellent Learning Support Teacher.

Katelynne is a very busy person who has a part time job in addition to being a PSIII Intern Teacher. She has taught two
classes and involved herself in LST work which puts her above the 0.5 teaching load typical for someone in this program. Not
only has she handled this workload with grace and professionalism but she has sought to involve herself in extra-curricular
activities such as Spirit Days, Valentines Day activities, St. Patrick's Day green breakfast, and Easter events. Although I have
been concerned about her burning herself out, I have found her attitude and actions in extra-curriculars to be refreshing and
admirable. My discussions with her indicate that Katelynne has a solid understanding of self care and knows how to keep
balance in her life while still contributing to the profession in ways that enhance her standing.

It is my view that Katelynne Ringuette is a highly effective and professional teacher who performs at a high level. She will be a
very valuable addition to any staff and a credit to the teaching profession. I wish her well in what promises to be a very bright
teaching career.
