God empowers each of us through
the beautiful sacraments of the
Church and its caring ministry. He
empowers us through the talents
and skills He has instilled in each
of us as His loving creations. He
empowers us through the thousands
of blessings we receive throughout our
lifetime from family, friends, teachers,
mentors, neighbors, employers, and
even strangers. He empowers us with
different and varied graces. But,
with this empowerment comes an
expectation.

Dios nos fortalece a cada uno de
nosotros a través de los sacramentos
de la iglesia y su bondadoso
ministerio. Nos fortalece a través de
los talentos y habilidades que con
amor y cariño le dio a cada una de
sus creaciones. Nos fortalece con las
miles de bendiciones que recibimos
durante nuestras vidas a través de
nuestras familias, amigos, maestros,
mentores, vecinos, empleadores y
extraños. Nos fortalece con gracias
diferentes y variadas. Pero con esas
bendiciones, también viene una
expectativa.

EN TIEMPOS DIFÍCILES
El tema de este año es de la carta de San
Pablo en la cual agradece a la comunidad
Filipense por ser sus “Compañeros de la
Gracia” – igual en tiempos difíciles en la
confirmación del Evangelio. Nosotros,
como los filipenses, hemos
sido compañeros de la gracia
durante el año pasado,
compartiendo nuestros
tiempos difíciles mientras
vivimos el Evangelio. Sus
contribuciones fortalecieron
a caridades católicas a llegarle
a los que estaban pasando por
malos momentos mientras
vivían las dificultades de
la tormenta Harvey. Sus
contribuciones fortalecieron
nuestros ministerios Hispano,
Afro Americano, Justicia
Criminal y Vida Familiar
sirviendo aun cuando la
tormenta Harvey nos afectó.
FUERZAS PARA TODO
Muchos en nuestra comunidad
perdieron mucho durante la tormenta.
Los que no sufrimos mucho, se nos llama
hacer más – a dar más generosamente. Y
si anteriormente no han dado, esperamos
que vean cuanto su contribución se
necesita este año. Ayudarán a nuestros
ministerios – como a los enfermos,
los que están en duelo, los vulnerables
- seguir y crecer más fuertes mientras
ayudan a más de 110,000 personas. Dios
nos da fuerzas para todo, pero muchas
veces lo hace a través de la bondad de los
católicos como ustedes.
