Description
The Tata Memorial Hospital announces a "2 day’s Training Programme in Palliative Care” for Doctors & Nurses on 20th April - 21st April 2019.
The Tata Memorial Centre (Tata Memorial Hospital) is the premier institution in India engaged in education, research and comprehensive care of cancer patients.
The Department of Palliative Medicine at TMH represents a Comprehensive and sustainable model of holistic care that enhances wellbeing at the physical, emotional, social
and spiritual dimensions for patients with advanced life limiting illness and their care givers.
The education in Palliative & End-Of-Life Care for Oncology (EPEC-O) Curriculum is a comprehensive course of study in Palliative and End-Of-Life Care developed
specifically for clinicians caring for person with cancer. The curriculum, divided into 3 plenary sessions, 31 content modules and 2 teaching skills modules, has purposes:
1. Provided the practicing clinician with information and strategies necessary to provide palliative interventional to his/her patients.
2. Provide educational tools and materials to use in teaching the core competencies of palliative care to trainees.
EPEC-O was produced by the EPEC Project at northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, with major funding provided by the National Cancer
Institute and supplement funding provided by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Oncology Nursing Society
provided partnership support in dissemination of EPEC-O.
