RRB NTPC: 90 DAYS STUDY PLAN

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a notification for 30,000 vacancies
under NTPC. This is a golden opportunity for those candidates who are looking for a job in
this field. Candidates having graduation degree can apply for this post.

Exam Pattern

Let us look at the Exam Pattern first and then we will discuss the strategy to be followed:

 For PwBD candidates allocated time will be 120 minutes.

 Each question carries 1 mark.
 Negative marking is 0.33

 Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%,

OBC (Non creamy layer)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for
eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD
candidates against vacancies reserved for them

important tips and topics from each section. You need to keep your focus on these topics and
Practice.

1. MATHEMATICS
Mathematics is completely based on accuracy and speed, and to achieve these both you need
to clear your concept first.

Let’s do this step by step –

1. Pick a topic.
2. Clear the concepts of this topic.
3. Do solve questions based on this topic.
4. Start focusing on time management in solving questions.
5. Give a sectional test and analyze it.
6. Finally check your mistakes and improve them.
 Repeat the cycle for the other topics as well.
 These steps will definitely improve your accuracy and speed both.

 Strong calculation plays important role in this section, so start playing with numbers
(practice well).

Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage,
Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and
Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Allegations

2. GENERAL INTELLIGENCE AND REASONING ABILITY:-

For reasoning you need two things:
1) Common sense
2) Presence of mind
 Apart this do practice as much questions as you can. Time management will save your
time and you will be able to give this saved time to other sections.
 Attempt picture based question first then switch to topic based.

marks.

Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs

3. GENERAL AWARENESS:-
To ace this section keep yourself update with current events like: National, International and
Sports etc and concentrate on Indian History, Indian Geography, Polity and Indian Economy.

Try to cover the gist of -

 Indian History (Ancient, Medieval and Modern)
 Indian Geography
 Economy (Terms and Theories)
 Polity (Basics of Constitution)

You may cover by the NCERT Books up to X level.
