Our Purpose

● Our Purpose as a program is to travel the nation visiting schools and educating the
public on the dangers of the opioid crisis, including:
○ History of the crisis
○ Signs on an addict
○ The effects opioids and heroin have on your health.

Russell brand will be providing first hand experience with his struggles as a heroin addict.
As well as providing a comedic performance to gain a comfortable relationship with the
crowd.
Facts

● Over the past 16 years there have been over 183,000 deaths due to prescribed opioids in the US
alone
● Every day, over 1,000 people are treated in emergency departments for misusing prescription
opioids
● Opioids bind to receptors in the brain and the spinal cord that send disrupting signals to the brain
implying that there is pain
● Opioids come from opium poppy plants which are commonly found in Asia, Central America, and
South America
● People who become addicted to opioids may eventually switch to heroin because it is much
cheaper
● It is easier for addicts to get opioids than it is for them to get help

“Up close and personal”- We thought it would be a great idea to have


Russell Brand give a personal message to the media by posting a
video of himself promoting our program. This allows his followers to
feel connected with the message he's sending.

● Memorable for children compared to a regular ad (Catchy beat/rhymes)
● Also reaches out to parents.
