ABSTRACT

The participation or participation of the community in development, especially in the


political process in the life of the nation and state is one of the benchmarks of success in the
implementation of development given that community participation in development will place
the status of a community that is not only a target of development but also a subject in the
process of modernization and change desired by development. This is because the
socioeconomic conditions are still low with livelihoods, most of which are based on the
agricultural sector so that the potential of rural communities to develop socially and
economically becomes weaker compared to urban communities, so it needs to be explored
further about the political participation of the Farmers' Workers in the Village Umanen Lawalu.
The purpose of this study is to provide a concrete picture of the political participation of the
Farmers 'Workers in the Village of Umanen Lawalu and to find out the factors that influence the
level of political participation of the Farmers' Workers in the Village of Umanen Lawalu. The
theory used in order to achieve research objectives is the theory of political participation which is
understood as the activity of a person or group of people to participate actively in political life,
namely by choosing the leadership of the state either directly or indirectly influencing
government policy. This study uses a type of qualitative descriptive research that aims to find out
and describe the occurrence of an aspect of certain social phenomena that occur in society. As
the focus of this research is the form and level of political participation of farm laborers in the
village of Umanen Lawalu and the factors that influence their political participation. In the data
collection method used is observation, interview and documentation. In analyzing the data the
author uses qualitative descriptive data analysis. The existence of the Farmers' Workers
Community still colors the life of the Umanen Lawalu Village. This is because most of the area
is agricultural area by relying on a simple management system with a relatively low level of
education, namely up to the elementary school level. The political insights of the Farmers' Labor
Society are still very minimal. The existence of high political participation in the farming
community in the Village of Umanen Lawalu with a benchmark on the results of the voting
(Pemilukada). Factors that influence the level of participation are low education, low economy
so that only thinking about work
